This is the best voice I've ever heard for a guided meditation. You will fall asleep and hardly get to the end of the story. I wish the announcement by audible wasn't so glaringly annoying. Still don't get why that announcement is necessary.

Dr. Bryant is brilliant. She helps you connect the dots on how to feel better about yourself and your goals. I have listened to this one twice and plan to listen again soon. Lots of little gems!

However, there's discussion about slides that you can't view in a podcast. You can probably use your imagination but this tells me the talks have come from some sort of lecture maybe an online video? 🤔

In a nut shell... meditation can help you do anything, or at least reach those areas of your mind that are you, but not you. At least that's what I got out of this long drawn out discussion.

I like Sean Webb, and I've listened to other media by him, this is why I got this audible version of his book. However, he narrates too fast. I slow down the speed, but then the million times he says "conscious consciousness or unconscious" in the same paragraph is grinding.

I thought I was going to get more about why this information Sean put in a book was so intriguing to the government wanting to track his every move in discussions he's had on the media about mind hacking. Alas, not really, unless you're new to the Silva Mind Control method, this 'mind hacking' isn't that new or a secret. Sure, there are groups out there wanting to utilize cult methods to gain power over 'some' people (who allow that). If you already know how to meditate, find your center and practice mental aerobics that can help you achieve great things, then go on and be great, you don't need this. Although, his book might help you get there if you're not sure how.

If you are okay with 'mostly' listening to real life examples of interviews and the progression of the interviewed, then you'll be prepared for what to expect. Mark has a way with analyzing situations in relationships that is almost enviable. He asks good questions and then breaks down what he believes is the issue and possible solution both with the people who he's working with and later in speaking to the audience (us the listeners). This was not what I was expecting but I kept and open mind and learned a thing... or two. I recommend giving it a shot, if you have an open mind.

This is a biased review because I really like Shirley MacLaine. She just appeals to my love of courage to speak your truth when you're not hurting anyone.

The Wild Oats movie was a springboard for the writing of this book, in my opinion. Much was revealed about how making a movie can be seen by an outsider as glamorous but in reality it's a job. And as Shirley mentions several 'dozen' times, money is an issue when you may not get paid at all for your hard work. However, I think a little less mention of money would have been a better choice. As well as less use of counting down of numerous lists (you'll just need to listen) an instead use of descriptive examples would have been more enjoyable than the lists, and lists, and lists. But hey, I'm not an editor.

I am happy to report that Shirley did speak of many of her spiritual travels among other things, from her past, friendships, gossip, dogs, health concerns, aging, etc. And at the risk of seeming naive to many who may read this review, I don't care though... I believe what she's experienced in the spiritual world,, and that there is much truth in her interpretations. Personally I admit, I have experienced similar unusual connections with a past possibility other life experience when visiting parts of the world that I've been attracted to. The impressions I've received have left it's mark on me too. But I digress....

Towards the end of this read Shirley mentions a great change that will occur in 2020 that will lead to major world implications. Now THAT gave me goosebumps. Would I recommend this? Yes, but only if you have an open mind.

Listening to Shirley MacLaine reading her own book is what makes this listen so enjoyable. It's like having a hot toddy with a good friend that loves to entertain with thoughts and ideas that most people are too afraid to discuss.

SM adds a few real life snapshots of a life that is as unique as a good movie, no matter what the genre. A thought carried me throughout the read....If we are all actors in our own theater of life, something I often thought even as a child, and SM seems to have thought also,, then perhaps we could alter the daily script of life to make this a better world. Maybe in some way SM is trying to tell us, what if EVERYTHING we do matters?

If you have an open mind this is for you, if you tend to be hyper critical of what might be considered outlandish ideas, you should pass.... I don't think SM would care if you did. But you'd really miss out. Lol.

This is a short 'Cliff Notes' version of the concept of how we carry trauma in our body. I got this short pamphlet audible version with eyes wide open, meaning I knew that this was a very condensed narrative of the subject. I'm not disappointed for the length. What I am thrilled about is that the author has included all the citations on his website. I'll be going there next. Hopefully, the website works and I'll be satisfied, if not I'll be back to edit this.

Superb narration by Gillian Anderson, makes the entire story absorbing. Personally I was delighted that the protagonist Kaitlin is a psychologist and her side kick Ben is an interpreter for the UN. I automatically felt a connection as I majored in Psychology and am an interpreter/translator. I could identify with those elements as well as the spiritual message of that which we don’t yet understand because we cannot see.

What a great start to this series! Although I realize I’m a little late to the game since this series has been out a while now, I’m glad I finally found it. If you are a fan of X-Files, this will not disappoint. I’ve got the second book all cued-up. Highly recommend.
