Historia
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

An incredible ending to arc 1
Revisado: 12-15-24
Michael and Kate do an exceptional job in narrating AS ALWAYS. This book is quite the journey for a destination that is wild. I am sad and satisfied together at the ending and so excited for where stormlight and the cosmere are going. Brandon is creating something legendary here.

Historia
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Interesting
Revisado: 03-26-22
I’m a huge Brandon Sanderson fan and I’ve read all his other Cosmere books multiple times. I’ve tried to listen to this a couple times in the past but found it hard to get into. The beginning a kinda slow and I’m not a big fan of the narrator, but I’m glad I finally came back to it. It really picks up and now I’m hungry for more!
You can tell this was his first published book, but for a first it was pretty extraordinary!
If you’re on the fence, just get through the first 3rd of it and you’ll love it.

Great first work
Revisado: 08-10-20
I looked up the author to find this was her first novel? I think it was great and I’m really excited to see what she does next. The narrators did a fantastic job and I love that there are 2!
As for story I was hooked! It was pretty difficult to put down. I did kinda call a small twist at the end but it was really satisfying when it happened. She definitely does a great job at laying clues and building the world/story.

Worst in the series. What a waste.
Revisado: 06-08-20
Ok I have read the entire series and really enjoy them. They aren’t anything compared to Sanderson or Rothfuss of course, but they are enjoyable and fun. Each book has gotten better with #7 feeling like Aleron has learned a ton and wrote and ACTUAL novel as opposed to crap fan fiction. Fantastic. I was really excited for book 8 since 7 ended on such a cliff hanger.
It was SUCH a disappointment. 5 hours of Richter just looking at windows leveling up. NOTHING HAPPENS. It seems rather self indulgent. I’m all for a bit of language color, but there was a really absurd amount of “d*ck cheese” jokes and a full 15-30 mins of richter explaining “poopie” as he has diarrhea.
This book goes absolutely nowhere. My advice to Aleron:
-Brevity is the essence of wit. Learn to edit. get an editor.
-D*ck cheese, poop, and fart jokes are cheap. They aren’t funny and if anything it is really condescending to your readers. You are better than that. Try being funny authentically.
Nick is an amazing narrator as always. Sweet baby angel.
