I very much enjoyed John Pavlovitz’s discussion of how to be a better person in today’s world. He speaks of the world that I walk in, full of pain and anger. These insights help me to see that I don’t have to agree with everyone, I just have to try to listen to their stories. Even when I want to scream (especially then). I might hear God speaking when I least expect it.

A very cute cozy mystery. However, I think this narrator might be a better fit for children’s stories. It was hard to feel any sense of suspense listening to them.

This is a worthy addition to the series, with the unfortunate Baudelaire children showing their usual bravery in the face of horrendous twists and turns. Having Tim Curry narrate the story makes it irresistible.

Miranda Hart’s musings are the perfect way to get a little perspective on life. Listening to this book is like talking with one of your best friends - some confession, some advice, lots of giggles. Learn the art of not taking yourself too seriously from a master at the craft.

This series from Diane Kelly is sweet and just sassy enough to keep you giggling. You will cheer Whitney on in her quest to clear her name from suspicion of murder while trying to flip her first house. Sawdust the cat will also give you a new perspective on robot vacuums. Can’t wait for the next one!

An intelligent and well-researched look at how much of American society has been formed by slavery. I understand some people disagree with the conclusions, but to me, they resonate, and I’m white. Listen and see for yourself.

Such a fun read! Daphne and Socrates are great company when you need to relax. Bethany Blake’s characters seem to walk off the page and sit right next to you. This holiday-themed mystery will keep you guessing, and Elise Arsenault’s narration strikes just the right energetically casual tone.

Detailed and delightful course providing the origins of holidays celebrated in the U.S. You may appreciate May Day more, and you’ll never look at broomsticks the same way again!

Only one of the talents behind Horrible Histories and the host of the podcast “You’re Dead to Me” can make the history of sitting this engaging. I never realized how much we say by the way we sit. Greg Jenner offers an in-depth look at how much - through the development of the high chair, the sex chair or the electric chair, just to name a few - the evolution of sitting says about us as a society.

Fascinating perspectives on bodies, what they can do, what they suffer and ultimately what they mean to us. The different participants, especially Ms. Lawley herself, reveal messy, authentic relationships with their bodies and the perfect body image assaulting all of us. Loved it.
