I started this supply looking series very skeptical of what to expect, but it is funny, heart felt and there is a bigger story slowly being revealed in the background. I highly recommend this series

the writing just keeps getting better

15 books in. it feels like a fresh look at Erin Solstice, it doesn't get rid of anything but there's some recontextualizing for those surrounding her. Some very satisfying moments in this one, a longtime coming. you will cry though.

If you read book 3 this isn't a problem if you haven't why are you reading the reviews for book 4?

So opening themes for our 4th adventure of absurdly overpowered cyborg can beat up everything in the fantasy world starts with: turns out repressing your emotions whether as a trauma or to put a fake smile on so as to not worry the people around you is a form of self-harm and there are consequences to our lives and to our relationships for not allowing ourselves to process and feel our own feelings.

anyway continue on with our fun little book.

Absolutely a fun series, and as I was describing this to my wife I realized that if I had read this in a book review I would have been excited for it, after I recovered from the unintentional collateral damage

a refreshing perspective

I'm not sure this book will be everybody's cup of tea but it is one of my new favorites. It is political. honestly all writing is but this one did it on purpose. it did not hold back, and it was nice to see anarchists properly displayed

Fun listen but

be aware that while Sylver fully and openly admits that he is a monster that the book itself centers around might is not right torture solves our problems and can dip into some pretty hard places violently. as far as the relationship goes unless they are specifically a friend sexuality is the first focus
that out of the way it was a genuinely fun listen though I would have mixed feelings about sharing it without making sure someone is aware of those elements and I understand there are a lot of people who wouldn't be able to enjoy the book because of those.

cozy story with a wholesome romance

While some of the beats were predictable it was still a cozy read that I overall enjoyed. The thing that really makes the book stand out though is the protagonist's main relationship. I feel like it developed in a very healthy way and it felt very natural, she was never made to be less of a character but in fact the point where she gets in trouble is a similar point to the main character of an unwillingness to bother other people for help.

Hilarious and Charming

This was one of the most fun listens of Brandon Sanderson's works. I haven't had so many laughs since his rebuttal chapter from the Squanto stand in in the Wax and Wayne series. it's filled with whimsical wordplay and sideways turns rounding out with a found family, their own voice, and a new way to live their lives.

Decent reading, basic story with no growth

There is no emotional connection between the main character and the challenges they face let alone the extreme power growth. the first emphasis is on "this is not a charity" in a clear on examined libertarian fashion. Every beautiful woman met wants him whether his behavior has earned it or not. well he acknowledges that he does owe the dryad that he's going to marry much of the credit, her primary character trait seems to be subservience to him.

if traditional gender roles with all the girls serving the main character, and power with no connection to any growth, and no examination is the type of light fantasy that you're looking for, then by all means, enjoy.

I hate to say this in another person's book review because I know that writing is not easy. everything this book tries to do is done better and beware of chicken and I actually laughed with that one

To his credit as the family starts building there does start to be an emphasis on family but the emphasis continues to be on how "I only care about myself and my things." I hope the series will continue to grow, but I can't recommend it based on this book

A great first book!

I already enjoyed Travis Baldree for his reading on the Cradle series.
That's why I bought a book that was 6 hours shorter than I will typically spend a credit on.
I'm so glad I did. The story was sweet and uplifting while not shirking away from darkness. this is a great story about building a new life and choosing to live in a new way.
