Historia
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Worst book I’ve read in years
Revisado: 01-15-25
Every character was completely self absorbed and shallow, and the plot was nonexistent. On top of that, why didn’t an editor cut this thing down?! It didn’t warrant the length and could have been wrapped up in half the time. Really painful to listen to. Even a strong narrator couldn’t save this one. Really lame.

The narration is bad
Revisado: 06-25-23
I REALLY wish I had samples this before buying. I was so looking forward to reading this one, but I may have to abandon listening. I’m finding the narration annoying and distracting such that it is almost impossible to enjoy the story. Giving a long a to every instance of the word? WHY??

Among them is a little girl who runs towards him, head down, and throws herself into his arms saying ‘Daddy!’. But then he looks at her properly. This is not Zoe. This is not his daughter.

Story was just ok. The exciting part not all that exciting. Felt like it was setting me up for a sequel

The reader is ruining this for me
Revisado: 01-10-23
Well, this one will teach me to never purchase an audiobook without sampling it first. I can’t even describe the voice of this narrator. It emphasizes the wrong words, it pauses in the wrong places, it is gratingly nasal, the only good thing I can say is that at least the British accent sounds good. I hate to do this to a narrator, but it really is ruining this read. I’m only two hours in and I may have to give up.
