Historia
If it weren’t for Emma Johnson, Caryn Johnson would have never become Whoopi Goldberg. Emma gave her children the loving care and wisdom they needed to succeed in life, always encouraging them to be true to themselves. When Whoopi lost her mother in 2010—and then her older brother, Clyde, five years later—she felt deeply alone; the only people who truly knew her were gone. Emma raised her children not just to survive, but to thrive. In this intimate and heartfelt memoir, Whoopi shares many of the deeply personal stories of their lives together for the first time.

Whoopie is Amazing
Revisado: 03-14-25
This is a fantastic bio, and should only be listened to so that the reader can hear the story straight from Whoopie. She does a great job telling stories and leading the reader through her life with her Mother, Brother and daughter.

Historia
Something’s gone wrong in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. We can all feel it, but if we’re being honest, most of us don’t understand it. At the end of the day, we don’t have all the facts, and if you don’t know how something works, how do you fix it? A Return to Common Sense is a concise, no-nonsense, dare we say fun, guide to how America works and a roadmap to reclaiming a government of, by, and for the people.

A Politics Girl For Our Times
Revisado: 11-30-24
Leigh’s take on the current political situation in our country is spot on. I wish that EVERYONE would have read this before November 2024.

Historia
But now Lillian herself is dead. Found among the bleeding hearts and lilacs of Clara Morrow's garden in Three Pines, shattering the celebrations of Clara's solo show at the famed Musée in Montreal. Chief Inspector Gamache, the head of homicide at the Sûreté du Québec, is called to the tiny Quebec village and there he finds the art world gathered, and with it a world of shading and nuance, a world of shadow and light. Where nothing is as it seems. Behind every smile there lurks a sneer. Inside every sweet relationship there hides a broken heart.

Another great story in this Series

I am just realizing that each book has unfinished elements of past books as well as its own story; this keeps me coming back, to glean insight into past stories.

Great Prequal
Revisado: 05-21-23
I have listened to Aimee Leduc recorded books by other narrators and this narrator is the best. Her French is flawless. I loved finally hearing the story of how Aimee got started in the detective business, and her father’s influence and death.
