I've always had a weak spot for strange ladies. One very beautiful girl had even warned me that she was, get this, a vampire. But did I listen? No.

What a bad story
Revisado: 02-06-24
The main character is a vampire who can move like a smoke yet he gets caught and let bad guys beat him up all the time. When he finally had a chance to dispose of them because they are killers and torturers, he lets them ho only for them to get him and his friends again. Even when he gets shot and they think he is killed he doesn’t do anything to them and AGAIN gets caught by same people. If i could give it a zero i would. The only good thing about the book is a narrator

I love all Ilona Andrews’ books. All. Some more some less but the authors have a way of engaging us that is rare. I’m not sure why out of all their books this one is my favorite. The other reader was great but this one , hopefully will grow to the task

Historia
Lt. Commander Joshua Manson's focus on his career has taken him to many places, just not the one he has always dreamed of going: space. His sometimes controversial methods during missions have given him the reputation of being a soldier who doesn't always play by the rules. A challenging mission leaves Josh questioning if he'll have a career at all, so he is surprised when he is offered the chance to command a mission in space to investigate an unknown object. The more he learns, the more determined he is to lead it.

Project: how to steal other’s ideas
Revisado: 02-26-19
I hate writing reviews like this. It wasn’t badly written but she completely stole Star Wars world. She even put rebels on an icy moon. She changed a story a bit but the whole universe our characters ended up was Star Wars universe with slightly different names and some very similar. I couldn’t enjoy it because every so often there was a stolen image from my favorite franchise. Total disappointment.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Not even close to Martian
Revisado: 12-22-17
I’m so very disappointed. I couldn’t finish it. Not funny, not interested enough, story is dragging and although I like Rosario Dawson as actress, she doesn’t come close to master of book reading RC Brey who read Martian. Maybe movie will be better but book isn’t worth a credit unless you lower your expectations. I returned it

Historia
Nevada Baylor can't decide which is more frustrating - harnessing her truthseeker abilities or dealing with Connor "Mad" Rogan and their evolving relationship. Yes, the billionaire Prime is helping her navigate the complex magical world in which she's become a crucial player - and sometimes a pawn - but she also has to deal with his ex-fiancée, whose husband has disappeared and whose damsel-in-distress act is wearing very, very thin.

You just can’t go wrong with Ilona Andrews. This whole trilogy is a great listen for everyone who likes urban fantasy. Well written, full of action and funny Ilona Andrews always delivers. If you haven’t tried it, it’s time to do it.
Rene Raudman is one of the best readers I’ve listed to, and I have about thousand books in the library. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ All around

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Oh so funny
Revisado: 11-13-17
It’s truly rare to find a military science fiction that is equally engaging and funny. Characters are well rounded and story grows and pulls you in. I listened constantly with only sleep breakes until I finished the last book that’s out. Yes even in the shower, couldn’t help it. The AI is the funniest character I ever listen too and that’s in the big part because of flawless reading of Mr. RC Bray. I highly recommend this series. First few chapters are a bit slow so don’t give up or judge it until you meet Skeepy. As soon as he comes in the action and hilarity ensues. Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yikes
Revisado: 11-23-14
Never before had I been so utterly frustrated with a male character as I was in this novel. I never realized that I'm so used to female idiots as main characters, that I got almost shocked and outraged when I hit upon this one. I kept hoping he would make the right decision but noooo, the moron kept going. The story wasn't bad if you don't mind the main character and the reader was good.

Meh
Revisado: 11-22-14
The Dresden series was more interesting. There are some parallels between those two series, but Dresden was a more likable character. Maybe if there was a bit more chemistry between two main characters the book would interest me to continue the series. I'll get the next one if it get on sale for like 3 bucks, otherwise I'm not interested.

Historia
Marketing manager Katherine "Kitty" Katt steps into the middle of what appears to be a domestic dispute turned ugly. And it only gets uglier when the man turns into a winged monster, straight out of a grade-Z horror movie, and goes on a killing spree. Though Kitty should probably run away, she springs into action to take the monster down. In the middle of the chaos, a handsome hunk named Jeff Martini appears, sent by the "agency" to perform crowd control. He's Kitty's kind of guy, no matter what planet he's from. And from now on, for Kitty, things are going to be sexy, dangerous, wild, and out of this world.

Like an unripened persimmon
Revisado: 11-22-14
It looks good and you want want to eat the whole thing but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
The thing that bugged me the most was a heroine. She was the smartest, the cutest, the most wonderful, etc,.. I mean, come on, she gets everything so fast ( sometimes seconds, minutes and in rare moment hours) that aliens who are studying the bloody things for years don't and she makes them all look stupid. It was just a bit too much of a the-universe-turns-around-me heroine who could do no wrong. That's not to say that I like flawed heroes but I definitely don't like the perfect ones. I'll pass on the next one in the series. The reader wasn't bad.
