Historia
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

Must Read!!!!
Revisado: 09-06-24
This book is fabulous. I don’t say that because it’s fluffy and happy but because it is raw and honest. As a female veteran (war on terror generation), so many of the emotional struggles of this book are incredibly accurate to what women veterans experience, and not just the Vietnam Era.

Historia
Life in the 21st century presents a disturbing reality. Otherness, the simple fact of being different in some way, has come to be defined as in and of itself evil. Miroslav Volf contends that if the healing word of the gospel is to be heard today, Christian theology must find ways of speaking that address the hatred of the other.

This is a fantastic theological work that explores numerous standpoints on a very controversial topic.
