I absolutely love this series, and having Jonathan Keeble as the narrator makes it even better—I could listen to him all day. The story is engaging with a great twist, and David Blake never fails to impress!

You will find the spirit of Caesar in the soul of a woman
Revisado: 02-11-25
I discovered this book by chance. Upon learning it was about one of my favorite artists, whose prints adorn my walls, I felt compelled to read it—and it did not disappoint. This powerful retelling of Artemisia Gentileschi’s life delves into the horrors she endured, including an assault—a societal issue that, unfortunately, remains prevalent today. I sincerely hope that Artemisia was able to live a life she loved and found her own happy ending, as portrayed in this novel.

Historia
Having escaped an unhappy marriage, Morgan finds herself in Camelot–the city of dreams and peace. Her brother, King Arthur, treats her as a valued advisor and Morgan finally has recognition befitting her intelligence within Arthur’s trusted circle, despite a longstanding conflict with Queen Guinevere. But Morgan’s life is not without complications. Between a vengeful husband determined to snatch their son away, the strict ideals of court life, and a jealous rival for Arthur’s attentions in the sorcerer Merlin, gaining true recognition and freedom is a greater challenge than Morgan envisioned.

Bring back Accolon!
Revisado: 01-29-25
This novel is presented as a feminist retelling of Morgan le Fay’s story, and to some extent, it achieves this. However, I’m weary of narratives where women must endure relentless trials and suffering. I sincerely hope that in a potential third installment, Morgan can reunite with her love, Accolon, without further sacrifice. Otherwise, all her hardships—losing her two children, her position at court, and her true love—seem in vain. I loved this book, but I yearn for an ending where Morgan can truly be free and happy. While I understand it follows the Arthurian legend, legends are, after all, myths. Therefore, Morgan can have her vengeance and a happy ending. She has suffered and sacrificed too much.

The Storytelling Intertwined with History
Revisado: 01-07-25
I absolutely love this series! I have so much admiration for authors like Signe Pike, who are dedicated to uncovering the truth and lost history of powerful women. This book also serves as a fantastic transitional ending, perfectly setting the stage for Arthur’s story.

Historia
In 1893, there's no such thing as witches. There used to be, in the wild, dark days before the burnings began, but now witching is nothing but tidy charms and nursery rhymes. If the modern woman wants any measure of power, she must find it at the ballot box. But when the Eastwood sisters - James Juniper, Agnes Amaranth, and Beatrice Belladonna - join the suffragists of New Salem, they begin to pursue the forgotten words and ways that might turn the women's movement into the witch's movement.

Such a great read. A truly inspiring story about sisterhood beyond blood. The magic or “witching” as it is referred to in the story, is a sacred thing which empowers women and men alike to raise each other up against the darkness.

Heartbreaking
Revisado: 11-08-23
Britney is so strong to overcome the pain she was dealt by her own family. To hear her side of the story was shocking. It’s Britney’s version of a Handmaids tale. It’s unbelievable that women can still be thrown into facilities and their lives completely overtaken by money hungry misogynistic pieces of shit like her father. Stay strong Britney, I hope you can heal in peace.

Feels like the female version of The Last Kingdom, totally worth it!
Revisado: 09-17-22
I absolutely loved it, could not stop listening. Filled with action, about a female warrior who is badass. Jael continues to impress and inspire you. Jael Furyck has a very Uhtred-esque feel to her character. Like Cornwell, Rayne had a way of implementing unexpected humor with her characters, which I also loved aside from the ass kicking scenes. The storyline made me want to stay up all night, I couldn’t get enough of it. One of the best books I’ve listened to in a while.

Chance Crawford is great at playing the Deep. If you love The Boys, you’ll love listening to Deeper and Deeper. You can’t stop laughing and how cringe worthy the Deep is while portraying himself as an egotistical narcissist… so the usual.
