Historia
England, 1835. London is awash with thrilling new ingredients, from rare spices to exotic fruits. But no one knows how to use them. When Eliza Acton is told by her publisher to write a cookery book instead of the poetry she loves, she refuses - until her bankrupt father is forced to flee the country. As a woman, Eliza has few options. Although she’s never set foot in a kitchen, she begins collecting recipes and teaching herself to cook. Much to her surprise, she discovers a talent - and a passion - for the culinary arts.

Enjoyable Narrators, Story Has a Few Issues
Revisado: 10-26-23
There are some noticeable continuity issues with this book. Nevertheless, I found this book to be an engaging read. The issues I'm referring to include introducing plot elements without a clear buildup that would make the story flow seamlessly. Some events in the latter half of the book appeared out of nowhere, lacking foreshadowing or integration into the narrative's fabric. While some might call these surprising plot twists, it felt more like haphazardly pasting plot points into the story. These elements had the potential to be significant and drive the entire plot, but they fell short.
Furthermore, the conclusion did not neatly tie up loose ends or restore order. Instead, it abruptly ended, leaving me bewildered and thinking, "Is this really the ending?"
The narration was excellent.

I thought I loved Anne and Emily, but nothing compares to Valency. Great production and story.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

One of the best books I’ve read in a while. Enjoyed listening to Ray Porter tell Grace’s story.
