The plot threads from the first book continue and the stakes are get much higher. I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Once again, the narration from Jim Perkins was fantastic.

I would describe the story as a bit of a wild ride. The main character is whisked away to many exotic locations, meeting many strange new faces, getting involved in alien politics. The first few chapters lead me to believe the book was going to be a bit more philosophical and thought-provoking in nature. In the end, I don't think it followed through on all the ideas it introduced (maybe I need to read the rest of the series to get what I'm looking for).
I think it was a fun story though. The author's writing keeps you on the edge of your seat. I just don't think it is as deep as other reviews make it out to be.
The narration by Jim Perkins was excellent. Unique voices for every character made forget I was listening to an audiobook.
