Yes, to revisit the stories and appreciate the genius of George Eliot.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Middlemarch?

Dorothea Brooks in Italy, Fred Vincy and Mary's encounters, Rosamund's fits, Ladislaws misadventures, and so many more....too many to name.

Which character – as performed by Juliet Stevenson – was your favorite?

don't have one she did them all so brilliantly--I wondered if she had a multiple personality disorder.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no, felt calm, it's reaffirming, human beings are still the same creatures they were way back then....

A wonderful and worthy revisit through a work of genius. Take it slow and enjoy. There's nothing like it and there never will be. It's up there with Anna Karenina and Tale of Two Cities.

No. It's an easy summer read.

it's humor and friendly tone

she played the protagonist very well

Colleen to get the real scoop on the narrator.

This is a fun and easy book. Perfect summer read. Feels like a girlfriend telling you about her misadventures and experiences in her life. It's friendly, interesting, and humorous.

trying to hard to sound wise and deep, too invested in his own thoughts that don't quite hit the mark as far as I can tell.

yes it's not her fault that the writing and story is so bad. She did what she could with this stuff.

about 3/4 of them.

This is a mish mush of multi-cultural crap. Terribly written garbage. I would venture to say that she had a deadline and had to put something out there.

Very specific and clear. Great examples of other works of fiction.

What does Professor James Hynes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He makes the lesson personable and engaging.

Too many too list.

Great for anyone who wants to know the basics of writing fiction. Not too much information, but just enough for a great start. Everything you would pay hundreds of dollars for in a writing workshop.

Yes, if you have nothing else to do. It's a quickie, and everyone's reading it so it's a conversation piece.

Kate Burton's voice is enchanting, and matches the story beautifully.

What made the experience of listening to Shakespeare Saved My Life the most enjoyable?

Can't really name one thing...it all worked together to make a great story.

What other book might you compare Shakespeare Saved My Life to and why?

Henrietta Lack's story had a similar effect on me. The stories are so intriguing and to know they are true stories leaves me speechless.

What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?

She's got a lovely voice, and can take on different characters without a hitch.

Yes. Neither laugh nor cry just left me stunned.

Highly recommend. This is a world I would never ever venture into. Laura Bates does a terrific job of ushering us (safely from our comfy armchairs) through a difficult and dangerous world.
