I really felt this one
Revisado: 07-11-23
It has been such a long time since I've enjoyed a story in which I felt so much in touch with a character. This story made me legit cry, more than once I might add, and I'm all the better for it. As someone who suffers with depression and anxiety among other things, the way such things are portrayed (by the main character no less!) is INCREDIBLY accurate. The story is as heart wrenching as it is heart warming and I HIGHLY recommend it. I don't usually go for sci fi but I'm so glad I did this time. I think this is my new favorite and I will most DEFINITELY be trying to get my hands on a hard copy.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

I've never gotten around to being able to read any of Jane Austen's books and I've seen more than a few iterations of Pride and Prejudice. It's been one of my favorite movies and the audiobook certainly didn't disappoint. The narrator was a joy to listen to and she captured the spirit of the novel well. As for the story itself? Very enjoyable. Elizabeth Bennet will always be one of my favorite characters and I was pleasantly surprised at how little was left out of some of the film renditions I've seen. Highly recommend.

Well, at least he's not terminally bored anymore.

I read this first as a web series and couldn't resist when this came out. It did not disappoint. There were moments when I worried the narrator hadn't gotten the friendly, playful insulting banter right between the characters but as the story progressed, I loved it. The way the characters talk to one another is something I heavily relate to as someone with ADHD, their interactions between one another really remind me of the way I interact with my own friends. It was interesting to hear the voices of the characters, specifically Anesh, change as the narrator became used to used to him and was overall a joy to listen to.
I can't wait for the rest of the books in the series to be released and I will definitely be picking them up. ♥
