Robinson was a great professor and I would have enjoyed his classes immensely. Had I an instructor such as him in college, his courses would have persuaded me beyond a doubt that psychology, and in particular the philosophy of psychology and science as worthy pursuits beyond an undergrad degree.

Twenty-five years ago, when Pat Robertson and other televangelists first spoke of the United States being a Christian nation that would build a global Christian empire, it was hard to take such hyperbolic rhetoric seriously. Today, such language no longer sounds like hyperbole but poses, instead, a very real threat to our freedoms and our way of life.

Historia
Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

Great piece on history of whiskey
Revisado: 06-30-22
Ken Albala is a great scholar and fun to listen to. The history of bourbon itself is interesting and is more reflective of American history than what gets presented to primary and secondary school students.

There was no other life, or death, that impacted the course of Western history as that of Julius Caesar. He was a Chad and a half, and had his reforms been successful in the Roman Republic, not only could the despotism and excesses of the Empire have been avoided or at least tempered, it would have revolutionized the ideas of Justice and Equity in all of the West.

Historia
The Nazi regime preached an ideology of physical, mental, and moral purity. But as Norman Ohler reveals in this gripping new history, the Third Reich was saturated with drugs. On the eve of World War II, Germany was a pharmaceutical powerhouse, and companies such as Merck and Bayer cooked up cocaine, opiates, and, most of all, methamphetamines, to be consumed by everyone from factory workers to housewives to millions of German soldiers.

Revisado: 05-07-22
These lessons are good. However, they teach the ultra formal way of speaking with older people in a form of Greek that rarely gets used anymore, especially by younger Greeks. Some of the verbs such as to eat and to drink are different from the verbs used more commonly today
