Great Idea Disappointing Execution
Revisado: 04-25-10
This book from start to finish was a mixed bag. I like the idea of the novel but didn't love the character progression. One of my biggest problems with the book and unlike a great science fiction novel is that this book has far to many gaps and reaches to far to try to make everything tie together. That to me really left this book as a mediocre experience. I should also mention that the first quarter of the book is a really slow start and its not until the second half of the book you have a clear understanding of what's going on. All things considered I didn't hate it but didn't love it either.

Wanted to Love It, But Didn't
Revisado: 03-20-10
Scott Brick does a great job narrating this book, in fact he really does a phenomenal job bringing this to life. My biggest issue with The Wrecker was its heavy emphasis on trains. Unless you have had a childhood of train sets and history of train books lying around your bedroom floor I don't think you will get a lot out of this book. The action in the book is good, and The Wrecker proves to be a worthy villian, but the books heavy reliance on trains starts to run thin throughout the book.

Good but Not Great
Revisado: 03-20-10
To me The Midnight House had all the right pieces for a great thriller but it just never grabbed my attention like it was intended. I found the book to be an easy listen, and an enjoyable one, but not memorable. I have never read Alex Berenson before but I would again after reading The Midnight House as I think he has a great thriller in him. A worthy read just not a perfect one.

Archer Does it Again!
Revisado: 03-18-09
The first Archer book I read was The Prisoner of Birth, and I was instantly drawn into what for me is one of the best mysteries of all time. So of course when I heard Archer came out with another novel, I bought it on release day, and once again it doesn't disappoint.
Archer has this amazing way of telling a story, he slowly ramps your interest into the characters until you get to the point where your thinking about the book even when your not listening to it. I had never had much interest in climbing but after reading this book I have a whole new appreciation for their art form.
The book as a whole is brilliant, its part love story, part adventure, and a whole lot of twists and turns up until the last words. Although maybe not as earth shattering as The Prisoner of Birth, this book really deserves a look.

One of the Best Audible Books Out There
Revisado: 12-30-08
I couldnt have picked a better book to get back into my Audible.com fanboyism. This is a thriller in every sense of the word and is made even better by the tremendous voice narration done by George Guidall. I hear that this is a series of books about the two characters and I look forward to not only going back and reading past novels by Vince Flynn but also reading future ones. If Extreme Measures is any indication of Flynns ability to write a great thriller, then count me in.
