Historia
Just along the coast from Penstowan, the local festival has filled the area. Former Met police officer Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker has agreed to step in and help run the Pie Hard food truck, along with her rather reluctant fiancé, DCI Nathan Withers. As they prepare for a weekend of camping and being elbow deep in shortcrust pastry, Jodie hadn’t bargained on witnessing a fight between members of the lead band. But when the body of one of the band members is found not far from the campsite, Jodie finds it hard to believe it was an accident. Especially when the other members had so much to gain…

I was drawn to this series by the characters, storyline, and narrator. I love mysteries or thrillers with a female as the main character. The supernatural element has been a bonus.

A film company is coming to the Cornish village of Penstowan, and the whole community turn up to be cast as extras, even Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker. Determined to join in with the fun and ignore any dramas, Jodie intends to make the most of this time with her mum and daughter and hopefully see their names in lights…or really small writing on the credits page. But right on cue, the company’s caterer is sabotaged and Jodie must step up. It soon becomes clear that someone is out to spoil the filming.

I stated with book 1 and burned through the rest without any self control. I find this author funny and the story full of interesting characters navigating curious journey to discover who done it.
Now I am itching to listen to the next few books, if only I could find the audiobook version!

Comedic mystery that won't disappoint!
Revisado: 03-26-24
I am a fan of female protagonist and a story read by a female narrator. I am constantly enjoying mysteries or thrillers that are based in the UK, Ireland, or Australia. I needed some comedy and I'm not a fun of sappy romantic comedies. I thoroughly enjoyed these books. I can't wait for the third in the series to come out. I am so grateful to the author for sharing her talents!

I finally stumbled upon this series after searching for books based on the narrator. Listening to the work of British, Irish, Scottish, and Australian authors writing specifically about crime or mystery has been a needed escape. I prefer books with female leads. I am impressed with Ian Andrew's ability to write about women. this series is so far well paced, funny with emotion and has bits of social observations included. I am very excited to listen to the next book and I selfishly hope there are more to come in the series. Also, obviously I love the narrator as well and appreciate her outstanding abilities to bring characters and the story to life.

I very much enjoy the author and his other books. I needed something a little lighter and comical. I enjoy the female narrator. I prefer British authors. I think this can be a lovely listen if you just need something light-hearted.
