Pleasant Surprize- better than expected
Revisado: 02-07-23
Let's get one thing out of the way, from other reviews...
- Yes. Narration is done with American accent, and supporting characters are read with Brittish ones, but are usually just a sentence or two at a time.
- This is NOT that big of a deal... Imagine yourself READING a book, You would be reading/imagining the words in your normal dialect. And you, yourself, would probably pronounce some of the obvious Brit words/phrases differently.
- I almost didn't get this book, for that reason, and I'm glad I didn't listen to those reviews.
It IS NOT that big of a deal. You will forget all about it, after a few minutes, if you don't spend time harping on the fact.
The story is good, and it was fun(for lack of better word) to see Joe learning some rules/abilities of time travel, as he gained experience. At one point I felt like I was correctly predicting the end, but was wrong. I rarely do that, it 'got me.' lol
My only real critique is, there was a chapter or two, around chapter 20 or so, where it got a little confusing. (not the story, but the writing) Like, a person would speak, who wasnt there previously, and I would realize, the story was introducing the next day.
It quickly went away, but for a short time, I thought to myself "this chapter must have been written early morning, before the author had his coffee."
- I finished yesterday, and WILL be starting the next book, this afternoon. (I don't often find myself picking up second books in a series, I usually move on)

Bearable/ mediocre.
Revisado: 05-06-22
I usually like when there are different voices for different characters, and when sound effects are immersive... but the actors werent that great, and the effects mostly consisted of crickets and other bugs in a woods.
- The last third of this book played like a bad Public Service Announcement, with an agenda.

Fun listen, while it made my mind wander/wonder
Revisado: 05-06-22
This was true enjoyment from beginning to end. I gave myself and employees some good topics for discussion (fun topics)
- the book was informative and not in a 'lecturing way' more of a "check this out, isnt this exciting/interesting?"
- I am hoping to find something that I enjoyed as much as this (also see "The Science of SciFy") type of audiobook.
well done !

Soaring ambition. Unwavering integrity. Billie Joe Armstrong isn’t the first punk to negotiate mainstream success, but he might be its most undisguised example. In Welcome to my Panic, Green Day’s iconic front man holds nothing back as he tracks listeners though his deeply personal and artistic journey in raw detail. Matching his emotional storytelling with new, exclusive, recordings of Green Day’s biggest hits, Armstrong chronicles the seminal moments in his life: the trauma and triumphs that have come to define him.

This may be my favorite Words/music title.
Billie Joe seems like a pleasant person, more than I expected.
- some other titles/artists come off as "yet another interview" or non interested in the reading.

Historia
Science fiction allows us to go places we can only dream of seeing - other worlds, distant stars, entirely different galaxies. While not every story is concerned with the hard science behind space travel and other futuristic ventures, fiction can give us amazing insight into what we could be capable of and what we dream of doing. In these 10 lectures, Professor Erin Macdonald interweaves real science and the achievements of the imagination to reveal the truth that underlies our favorite stories and sheds light on what the future may hold.

This was possibly the best audiobook I've listened to.
The scifi examples and discussion are enjoyable, and how the science ties in to it, is light but technical enough to give a brain tingle, when thinking about it.
- I would like 10 more like it. Im almost disappointed that I have to move on.
