Fun, Cosy Mystery
Revisado: 09-09-18
The first book of the Ginger Gold mystery series by Lee Strauss is a clever, fun read with a strong female lead. It’s 1927 and war widow Ginger Gold is crossing the Atlantic from Boston to London. Traveling with Ginger is her best friend Haley who is going to attend medical school when she arrives in London. Boss, Ginger’s Boston Terrier is also with her on the SS Rosa. Together all three have an eventful trip when the Captain is found dead in a pickle barrel! Determined to find out who is responsible for the crime, Ginger teams up with Chief Inspector Basil Reed from Scotland Yard who is also traveling aboard the SS Rosa. The characters are interesting and the story is engaging. A great introduction to a wonderful series. It is narrated by Elizabeth Kent who does a great job. A wonderful addition to your library if you are a fan of cozy mysteries!

Historia
It is the winter of 1880, and the future looks promising for Annie and Nate Dawson. Nate's law practice is taking off. Annie has made the transition from pretend clairvoyant to a successful financial consultant. And they are looking forward to spending their first Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays together. For Robert Livingston, the owner of San Francisco's newest grand emporium, the holidays don't look so promising. Not if he can't figure out how to stop whoever is stealing from his department store, the Silver Strike Bazaar.

Delightful historical cozy mystery
Revisado: 10-19-17
The fifth book in the historical mystery series set in Victorian San Francisco. Pilfered Promises continues the story of Annie Dawson who works as a financial consultant and runs a boarding house in San Francisco. Hired to look into the financial losses at a large department store Annie soon learns the problem is shoplifting. Shoplifting, murder, an orphaned child, race, divorce and romance are some of the intriguing elements that combine to make this cozy mystery the best in this wonderful series! I highly recommend the book and the audiobook, Already looking forward to the next book in the series!
