A stunning performance of a heartwarming memoir. You’re not considering this book if you don’t love theater- and since you do, this book will fill your cup!

Historia
Kelly Bishop’s long, storied career has been defined by landmark achievements, from winning a Tony Award for her turn in the original Broadway cast of A Chorus Line to her memorable performance as Jennifer Grey’s mother in Dirty Dancing. But it is probably her iconic role as matriarch Emily in the modern classic Gilmore Girls that cemented her legacy. Now, Bishop reflects on her remarkable life and looks towards the future with The Third Gilmore Girl. She shares some of her greatest stories and the life lessons she’s learned on her journey.

So much more than “her resume”!
Revisado: 09-21-24
If you’re a musical theater nerd like me you’ll get my title for this review. Kelly Bishop’s memoir did NOT disappoint. I found myself going back and forth between this and the soundtrack of A Chorus Line throughout the book savoring and reflecting on every new story Kelly shared. Not surprising for a seasoned dancer, the book is perfectly timed so you’re left wanting more more MORE! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.. I’ll be listening to it again very soon..

Historia
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Highly Recommend
Revisado: 05-31-23
Look, this book starts slow…there’s no getting around it, and it’s completely necessary to set up the world of the book. However, once you get past the necessary exposition, this becomes one of the favorite stories you’ve read(or listened to) in a long time. The performance is clear and interesting albeit a taaad slow at times, but in those occasions I recommend listening at a higher speed and the build of the action in the book will keep you HOOKED. I already am anxiously waiting for the next book in this series.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I devoured this audiobook faster than I thought I would because it is just that good. The story is really interesting, unfolding at a pace that keep you curious right up to the end and the performance by Ray Porter is unparalleled. Highly recommend it!
