Historia
When scholarly Miss Ivy Wareham receives word that she's one of four young ladies who have inherited Lady Celeste Beauchamp's estate with a magnificent private library, she packs her trunks straightaway. Unfortunately, Lady Celeste's nephew, the rakish Quill Beauchamp, Marquess of Kerr, is determined to interrupt her studies one way or another.... Bequeathing Beauchamp House to four bluestockings - no matter how lovely they are to look at - is a travesty, and Quill simply won't have it.

Boring till Chapter 10
Revisado: 07-16-19
I didn't like the characters. So much so, that I am not even interested in the rest of the books. Very little humor. Serious minded. I was expecting some of the few funny parts to expand, making me want to listen to the next chapter but that never occurred.
Then there is the plot. Someone is murdering people and the heroine is ALWAYS getting hurt but none of the 4 smartest women guess someone is trying to kill "her". 4 of the smartest women in their respective fields....ummmm, not so much.

They meet in a clash of swords, drenched in the moonlight of Britain's rugged eastern coast: Captain Jack, his handsome features etched in silver and shadow, his powerful physique compelling "Kit" Cranmer to surrender. He is her dream lover come vividly alive, and his command of the smuggling gang is absolute. His all-knowing gaze penetrates her disguise as the male leader of a rival gang with frightening ease, and his "punishment" with kisses leaves her maidenly modesty in tatters.

Least favorite of the series.
Revisado: 04-12-19
Tediously boring untill the last 4-5 chapters. It was like being stuck in a car with 2 children on a ten hour trip. The other books in the series had me rushing for the play button. This one had me rolling my eyes. seriously, if a guy had the hots for my best friend and suddenly is in love with me.....bye-bye!

Historia
Simon Basset, the irresistible Duke of Hastings, has hatched a plan to keep himself free from the town's marriage-minded society mothers. He pretends to be engaged to the lovely Daphne Bridgerton. After all, it isn't as if the brooding rogue has any real plans to marry - though there is something about the alluring Miss Bridgerton that sets Simon's heart beating a bit faster. And as for Daphne, surely the clever debutante will attract some very worthy suitors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable.

Great story & narration
Revisado: 03-09-19
Loved the humor in it. It really had me chuckling from start to finish. This one book has got me intrested in the whole series. It's not the 1st book I've listened to their had the whistledown columnist in it so I really like that added touch from a 3rd party that ties many different family's stories together from one era of England.

2 stories in 1, loved it
Revisado: 02-26-19
I think I am liking Male performers over females. It seems it is easier for them to switch to a high pitched female vocals than vice versa. I loved Dambie. These two stories were so inviting, I didn't want to turn the car off to go to work or to go home, lol. There were a couple times I was surprised. I would definitely love these in longer versions. I felt like I came in on Act 2 of a play. I will have to see if there are other books regarding the Duke that explain what the motivation is to have such a dislike for his son-in-law. The stories held their own but it is like enjoying a supporting character in a book and wanting their own story told. I look forward to more stories of this family.
I especially liked the Christmas presents the Duke gave. (no giveaways, lol.)
