Historia
Depression rates around the world have skyrocketed in the 20‑plus years since Richard O'Connor first published his classic book on living with and overcoming depression. Nearly 40 million American adults suffer from the condition, which affects nearly every aspect of life, from relationships to job performance, physical health, productivity, and, of course, overall happiness. And in an increasingly stressful and overwhelming world, it's more important than ever to understand the causes and effects of depression, and what we can do to overcome it.

More than I knew before
Revisado: 02-20-22
Trying to learn a lot more about depression. This is a very good book, the author does an excellent job of explaining how people get into depression and how to get out. I really appreciated the work he put into it.

Historia
Here, in his own words, is the true story of America's wildest flying hero, of his extraordinary heroism, and of his greatest battle of all-the fight to survive. The World War II air war in the Pacific needed tough men like Colonel Pappy Boyington and his Black Sheep Squadron. The legendary Marine Corps officer and his bunch of misfits, outcasts, and daredevils gave a new definition to "hell-raising" - on the ground and in the skies.

You thought you knew Greg Boyington
Revisado: 12-18-19
Greg Boyington is an icon in fighter aviation, the stories about him abound. But nothing comes close to his own story not only of flying and fighting and drinking and drinking and drinking but all of the complex and interesting phases of his personality. I really really enjoyed this book.

Best Book Ever on the Korean War
Revisado: 01-10-18
I have read many books on the Korean War. This is the best book that I have ever read on the subject. It is well worth the time. The author’s point of view is almost unique. His method of covering the war is excellent. If you care anything about war in general and the Korean War in particular you must read this book.

Historia
Robert Lee Scott was larger than life. A decorated Eagle Scout who barely graduated from high school, the young man from Macon, Georgia, with an oversize personality used dogged determination to achieve his childhood dream of becoming a famed fighter pilot. First capturing national attention during World War II, Scott, a West Point graduate, flew missions in China alongside the legendary "Flying Tigers", where his reckless courage and victories against the enemy made headlines.

Great Book
Revisado: 08-14-17
Like most pilots alive today, I grew up I having read God is my copilot. This book started off and I was concerned that it might be a hit piece on Robert Scott. It turns out that it is a very evenhanded an absolutely wonderful book. It will give you an insight into Scott’s life and who he really was. I’m absolutely certain you’ll enjoy this book. Historia
Douglas MacArthur was arguably the last American public figure to be worshipped unreservedly as a national hero, the last military figure to conjure up the romantic stirrings once evoked by George Armstrong Custer and Robert E. Lee. But he was also one of America's most divisive figures, a man whose entire career was steeped in controversy. Was he an avatar or an anachronism, a brilliant strategist or a vainglorious mountebank?

Outstanding Work, Superb Reading
Revisado: 05-17-17
I've long been interested in Douglas MacArthur. He and my grandfather were friends and served together in World War I. This is by far the best researched and thorough book on him I have ever read, the author presents him as he was, balanced and correct. There is a lot more than that however. The world would look vastly different today if MacArthur had been in Marshall's place and if FDR and Truman would have followed his advice.
