Unique hero-a brilliant little boy full of creative solutions for seemingly infinite problems. No rape or murder- no preaching, Nicholas cares about others. He's a decent, curious human being not adverse to self-analysis. He cheerfully sets out to develop his remarkable gift; everyone benefits.
May the author live a long and productive literary life. HE'S a treasure.
And the narrator is a stunning success. What a great voice!

this story is outstanding-the author has a fine command of her words -and the narrative's flow,so the characters come to life very early . Don't miss this one.
Exceptional in every way.

this is another thoughtful Bosch book cluttered with extremely annoying music. Dump it please, or give us a choice! The narrator grunts the ends of words; Bosch is the sort of decent man who doesn't need to sound tough and steriodal.

excellent story!
I liked all the characters, the plot was developed beautifully, and the narration was the icing on the cake. Amazing that it was a free listen. This author is worth watching- worth spending credits on. Well done!

excellent story and a fine narration. I was delighted to hear that the characters were,on the whole, so believable- and mostly honest people trying to raise their kids with a moral base. The story was compelling and I'm going to listen to all of this author's other books featuring the lawyer. It restored a bit of my faith in lawyers who are honest, decent people trying to honor the law. Maybe they aren't extinct...

This is an excellent read; the narrator is exactly right, and each important character is well developed- I cared about them. They were real to me. Scott McEwen and Thomas Koloniar are loaded with talent!
Worth every penny.

I have listened with fascination to this unusual narration, and will eventually carry on with the next book. Surely there is a next one...
i wish the author wouldn't insert so much sexual content: it detracts from the story and seems overdone.
The narrator is good, but has taken his instruction for how to read the words
too much to heart. No one says 'ae,' as in "there was ae road " or, "Ae dog walked past my house,"
as No one says 'ae bike' or 'ae book.' The letters ed for past tense give him fits, too. If only he could shuck these silly pronunciations for 'ah dog' or 'ah door, ...Arghhhh.
I like his voice, and so kept listening through winces...

This story is special; no profanity, giant fantastical adventure and no murder. The music is perfect-otherworldly and gorgeous. Each character is special . The young boy is lovingly drawn and so very interesting. Don't miss this experience.
BTW- this author is a gem. MORE , please!

When i read/hear a story I must LIKE the characters- care about them. This story featured people who were difficult to identify with in a positive manner. The hero had a wonderful lady, but he had no problem betraying her. He was shallow. Therefore. I was uneasy. Emily- the original- seemed to have no faults, so she seemed almost cartoonish. If she hadn't been lovely he would have dismissed her....Here's the thing: he dismissed her anyway,
The narrator was so compelling that I hung in there, but found myself embarrassed by the shallow people.
Oddy was someone I cherished.

The author has created deep characters with fascinating histories and he is an expert 'weaver'
of all the threads that deliver a compassionate tale of love and deception. Mr Hart is on my list of must read authors.
The narrator, Scott Sowers, has tremendous promise; his Carolina accent, his different voices and expressive general delivery were frequently lost -ruined-when he pronounced the' as 'thee' and 'a' as 'ae.' I gritted my teeth and kept listening because he spoke without those extremely awkward pronunciations when the characters were talking.I hope he tosses out - totally dumps -his training and simply reads this splendid story as though he were chatting with people he likes. He'd be truly great.
