K. Ryan does not disappoint. This is a good example of opposites attract from a superficial perspective. However, the storyline really speaks to how people put up walls and hide who they really are due to trauma and childhood pains. Finding the right person who is patient can make a world of difference. I wasn't familiar with the narrators but thought they did a good job. Loved the story development and the redemption for the "under dog."

This is not the typical book that I would normally read. It was on the reading list of one of my favorite authors who highlighted the unpredictable storyline. I would agree with that. Pros the characters were well developed. Also the storyline was interesting because life brought people unexpectedly back together or in each other's life for the 1st time. A big part of the story was defining family and friends with blurred lines of love and sexuality preferences. The book is a good long book which is perfect for a trip. CONS: I thought the ending was lack luster. So much time and detail telling the characters' story. There were climatic moments only to have a ending be flat. Possibly this could be a set up for a book 2.

My 2 favorite narrators did their thing as usual so no disappointments there. Love a struggle story with ultimate redemption and finding oneself. My only issue with the story line was it was a bit unrealistic but guess that's part of romance fiction....love at first site with plot twists. I didn't necessarily like how the lead male character "controlled" the lead female character. She was referred to as a girl and the guy as a man even though they were both college age. I guess you could say life experiences can dictate the level of perceived maturity. I guess I am a little triggered. I'm glad it worked out for everyone in the end.

This was a good read overall with the storyline and characters. I could definitely see there being a book 2. My biggest issue was the narrator. She was not able to provide voice performances that differentiated between the female characters as a solo narrator. I found myself really having to pay attention for context clues and keeping the names straight to align with each character's story. A bit exhausting for an audible book.

All I can say is wow! This book had me laughing, crying, contemplating, hoping, wishing with a dash of anger on the side. This author is new to me but she didn't disappoint. The characters and storyline were well developed and so realistic. The narrator did a great job. She was able to bring each character to life which is not an easy task to do by a solo person. We definitely need a book two...pretty please!!

Having the top two narrators perform is always a plus. Loved the storyline and character progression. Especially liked the reconciliation among family in the end. Definitely could make this into a series or at least a follow up book. Hint, hint A.W!

This author is new to me, but what a great read. it's solid all the way around. I thought the author did a good job narrating. Basically, she just read the book. She didn't attempt to mimic voices for the characters, but it still worked. There was a complex storyline regarding refugee women who were woven into the book. i liked the references to real people and issues. My only quam is it was a bit rushed at the end. I'm not sure if there is a sequel to this book, but it definitely would be welcomed. I can't wait to read more books by this author!

The storyline is a bit different than what I expected but in a good way. Jakobi Diem's narration is always on point and one of my favs. Maxine, the female narrator, had an annoying voice, especially when she did her male persona, but I actually got used to it, and it did fit her character. Spoiler alert (sort of)... I already completed the whole series of 3 books, and each one gets even better. So make it through book one. even though at times it seems a bit slow. Just know you need this build up to be able to totally enjoy book 2, and the ultimate prize is book 3!!

Be sure to read book 1 prior to this one, the second book. There are 3 books in the series. if you have made it this far, then you are already invested in the characters. The story moves slow but there are details that are important to building the story.

Wow!! First of all, this is book 3 of a series. You must start with book 1. So, the narration was great. One minute I'm laughing, mad, happy, and even crying. This story hit on so many societal and relationship issues that It's crazy that they were all able to be addressed very thoughtfully. I loved the poetry excerpts interwoven throughout the story. Child .... let me tell you that the romance scenes were on fire!!! #RelationshipGoals. The main characters, Bristle and Grip, define the meaning of the term ride or die.
