Not only was this book about a no BS insightful listen, but it was far more realistic and the tips were way safer than what is out there on the internet regarding the master cleanse. It shuts down most misconceptions. For example, using cayenne pepper on the cleanse is a completely optional ingredient to warm your body because some report feeling cold on the lemonade mix alone. Do not trust what the internet tells you as far as instruction for this cleanse. There are gimmicks out there. There are unsafe practices out there. If the cleanse is not done correctly, sometime can be starved or left with toxins in the body that don't get expelled and make them feel worse than before they started the cleanse. I also greatly appreciate the authors insight about the cleanse and its purpose as a corrective practice not to be used as a regular practice for maintenance. Using it this way could prove dangerous, mal-nutritious, and it is not necessary to do a cleanse 'regularly' or multiple times. Also, the cleanse is not a weight loss diet. Its sole purpose is to DETOX and expel harmful toxins built up in the body after years of neglect. However it can aid in the weight loss after it is completed, relieve a multitude of ailments and leave you feeling energetic and on top of the world. It's a great RESET.

This book was exactly what I've been looking for. I suffer from mild depression, so drugs and therapy, although could be beneficial, may not be necessary. This book gave me a perspective, understanding, and action items around depression that helped me to help myself within the first 30 minutes. The author really understands what's happening with negative thinking in a depressed persons mind and gives logical and rational guidance to help the reader 'tune their dials' to a clear station, or in other words a clear view of reality and out of the mental fog of depression.

I wasn't even able to get past chapter 3 before I started feeling great. Sometimes emotional issues are as a simple as chemical imbalance in the brain. I immediately ran out and purchased the recommended supplements based on the results I got back from The Mood Cure's mood assessment, and I was feeling better within 12 hours. I don't consider this a placebo effect. I believe it was an authentic mood boost. I have Attention Deficit Disorder and prefer not to take medication. I also wanted to break my morning coffee habit. I'm a morning person, but have been waking up feeling exhausted. After taking everyday supplements, I feel better than I have in months! I'm waking up refreshed, my mind isn't racing, I'm alert all day, and managing stress much better. My peers and family are telling me I have a glow. I'm so happy I trusted my instinct on this book. It gave me knowledge about how the brain and emotive engines work and what is needed to keep them performing efficiently. Don't waste money on therapy, meds, and too many self-help books and other hoaky remedies. Try natural remedies recommended from this book first!
