I am loving this series and was hoping it didn’t end after she arrived in North Haven. So relieved to find The Hermit of Lammas Wood!

It could only be better if the story kept on going. There were a few loose ends I thought might be resolved--maybe there will be a sequel?

I enjoyed all of the characters in this book - the three team members all had their foibles but they came together as a team pretty quickly. If you're interested in time travel, you'll probably like this series. Sorry I'm not more eloquent but I do think this is a good series. And now I'm getting ready to spend my credit on the next one!

Historia
When Olivia Shaw’s mother dies, the sophisticated food editor is astonished to learn she’s inherited a centuries-old English estate—and a title to go with it. Raw with grief and reeling from the knowledge that her reserved mother hid something so momentous, Olivia leaves San Francisco and crosses the pond to unravel the mystery of a lifetime. One glance at the breathtaking Rosemere Priory and Olivia understands why the manor, magnificent even in disrepair, was the subject of her mother’s exquisite paintings. What she doesn’t understand is why her mother never mentioned it.

Wouldn't I love to be her!
Revisado: 12-02-20
While she does have her tragedies to surpass, the whole world opens up to her as a result of her mother's quirks and secrets. I enjoyed this story--not too sticky sweet, but certainly sweet. Wouldn't anyone love to have the opportunity to relocate to another continent, inherit a load of money and a manor house, and make wonderful new friends? Well, I certainly would! Enjoy!

Historia
Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper extraordinaire, is pissed. She’s been kicked off the earthly plane for eternity - which is the appropriate amount of time to make a person stark-raving mad. But someone’s looking out for her, and she’s allowed to return after a mere hundred years in exile. Is it too much to hope for that not much has changed? Apparently it is. Bummer.

If 14-year-old Cassandra Reed makes it through her first day at Miss Castwell’s Institute for the Magical Instruction of Young Ladies without anyone discovering her secret, maybe, just maybe, she’ll let herself believe that she really does belong at Miss Castwell’s. Except Cassandra Reed’s real name is Sarah Smith and up until now, she lived her whole life in the Warren, serving a magical family, the Winters, as all non-magical “Snipes” are bound by magical Guardian law to do. That is, until one day, Sarah accidentally levitates Mrs. Winter’s favorite vase in the parlor....

I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to more in the series. There are lots of questions yet to be answered--How did Sarah/Cassandra get her magical powers? Where is Mary? I'm new at reviewing and finding it hard to not reveal spoilers. Suffice it to say this book is worth your time and is a delight.

Historia
When a Hungarian immigrant is dismembered near London's River Thames, Commander Monk is called to the eerie scene, where 16 candles surround the corpse. As identical murders pop up around the city, Monk confronts the unsettling options: could it be the work of a secret society? A serial madman? Or is a xenophobic Brit targeting foreigners? A local doctor who speaks Hungarian from his days on the battlefield may be able to help, but his own struggles with post-traumatic stress have left his memory in shambles.

I love to see the development of the characters in this series. The young street urchin whom the Monks have adopted is coming along nicely, and I was relieved to see a reference to his former cohort (although I can't remember the names right now). I was afraid he had come to some bad end, but it doesn't seem that way. Keep them coming!

Enjoyable, but choppy...
Revisado: 08-21-16
I am enjoying the escapades of Jill (I think that's the main character's name--names don't stick with me), but if I didn't know better, I'd think this audio version was abridged. At least, I hope that's not how the author wrote the book. The first time I noticed it was when Jill went to work in her cousins' bakery in Candlewood. Mention was made that there would be someone helping out with the waitressing, but then that person was never mentioned again. That scene was incomplete, and the next thing I knew, Jill was in the park with Barry, her dog, with no mention of how her first day at the bakery went. This choppiness continued throughout the book, and it was disconcerting. I do like the story line and the characters, but I hope the third book in the series won't follow this trend.

The continuing Saga...
Revisado: 08-14-16
Any additional comments?
I was enthralled by the first series, Saga of Seven Suns, and was delighted to find a continuation of the stories of the characters I had gotten so familiar with. I do like the way the author devotes each chapter to a continuation of one of the characters' story (not sure where that apostrophe should be!). I can't wait to get into the next installment with the new characters that were introduced at the end of the first installment of this series.
