There are a few tidbits that serve as a good reminder to enjoy the humor side of life and not take everything so seriously with work and other life scenarios. Some good tips on how to work on that humor muscle. Other than that, it was a bunch of filler stories that became annoying by Chapter 9. I don't think it was a wise use of my time to listen to this book. The value wasn't quite there.

Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

The stories will keep you intrigued...
Revisado: 03-08-20
David Goggins has (and still) lives a life that a majority of us can't comprehend. I typically purchase business books that are focused on one subject of self-improvement, but this book was a refreshing change and is packed with lots of tools that definitely fall under self-improvement. I think anyone can get some gems from this book and apply his suggestions to their daily lives. I appreciate the breaks in between the readings of the book to hear more from David Goggins explain further what he wrote. This is content you do not get from the written book, so I highly suggest the Audible version. It's a long book, but give it a try. The ratings are true. Definitely worth a purchase or Audible credit!

I didn't know anything about James Taylor's life until listening to this audiobook. It's a bit sad, but helps me understand where his music inspiration came from. a short listen that is worth the time.

In Indistractable, Eyal reveals the hidden psychology driving us to distraction. He describes why solving the problem is not as simple as swearing off our devices: Abstinence is impractical and often makes us want more. Eyal lays bare the secret of finally doing what you say you will do with a four-step, research-backed model. Indistractable reveals the key to getting the best out of technology, without letting it get the best of us.

Nothing new, but good tips
Revisado: 01-25-20
Book is read well and has some good tips on tools you can use to help with life's distractions. I think I've heard so many self-improvement books that this one just sounds similar to others. It really has nothing new and everything Nir talks about is stuff you probably already know but aren't implementing. So it's a good reminder, but I didn't have any "ah-ha" moments. A few chapters are irrelevant if you don't have kids (he discusses how to raise "in distractable kids"). I'm 50/50 on my recommendation. It's not a book I would revisit, but some people may find value in it.

Revisado: 10-02-18
This audio book is more of a "rah-rah" session to get you hyped up about taking action. I'm still trying to figure out "what's holding me back". It's a short listen, so it makes it bearable, but I did not find much value in it. Mike ends with a comment on how you should get to know "God" if you haven't already. Glad he saved it towards the end, otherwise I would have not made it through the book. He's a good narrator, so it's tolerable to listen to, but there are other books that provide more value.

Good Info for Any Age - But Same Info
Revisado: 06-29-18
The audio book is good as a refresher and reminder about things to focus on (and not focus on) when pursuing personal freedom. It's the same information you'll find in other business and personal development books. It's good and well read (as in clear), though I honestly could not stand listening to Daniel's voice after an hour into the book.

You live in your dream house, but there's no mortgage. No alarm clock, no boss, no bills. No claims on the day's time other than what you choose. It is making more money before breakfast than you made for an entire week at your last job. It is a crazy expensive car parked in your garage, a victorious symbol that your dreams no longer sleep in fantasies, but are awake with reality.

Listen to what you think you already know.
Revisado: 03-01-18
I never heard of MJ DeMarco until I purchased his audio book, Unscripted. This is a very long audio book with lots of references to diagrams. It took me several sessions to complete this audio book and digest the information after each listening session. His thoughts and ideas are inline with mine, so nothing was drastically new to me (so I thought). The difference this time was that he gave me a different perspective on how to view my actions in my path to entrepreneurship. He's pretty direct and in some ways brutally honest (though that's what I needed to hear). There are some golden tidbits of information in this book that may help push you to take some action and uncover why you may have been frozen in moving forward with pursuing your dreams. I'm not a millionaire just yet, but I really think this book has helped me uncover some demons that have held me back. I definitely think the book is worth the read/listen.

Like a broken record..we get it already.
Revisado: 10-16-17
With all the rave reviews, I really thought this would be a great pick to add to my self-development collection, but half way through the audio book I stopped giving a f*ck about listening to it.
I get the title is about "Not giving a F*ck", but every sentence is the same reiteration of what Sarah Knight does and does not give a f*ck about. She repeats the sentence over and over with her valley girl voice. I have no problems with hearing the "f*ck" word, but it really does get annoying hearing her say it over and over.
I wanted to like this book and I agree on the point she is trying to get across to the listeners (readers), but it is a drawn out book that doesn't need to be. It sounds like Sarah likes to talk more about herself in this book and it gets boring pretty fast.

A self-help book that speaks to me!
Revisado: 07-19-14
Would you listen to You are a Badass again? Why?
I've listened to Badass over and over (certain chapters as reminders), because I enjoy how it is read and I can relate to the stories and words chosen to explain the common message that most self-help books relay. Jen Sincero is blunt, funny, and is great at providing analogies that I felt I could relate to.
What about Jen Sincero’s performance did you like?
Jen Sincero is not monotone, like some of the authors that read their own books. She is funny, uses tones and voices that relate to her stories and has a voice I can actually listen to over and over.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from You are a Badass?
OMG! Almost everything! My favorite chapter is Chapter 4 (Chapter 5 on the Bookmark). It's a great reminder to myself when I start to let my mind give me "bad" advice.
Any additional comments?
If you can handle some bad words, are ready to work on yourself, and just open to stepping up and unleashing your Bad Ass self, BUY THE BOOK! I forgot how I stumbled upon this book through Audible.com, but I am so happy I did. I've been recommending it to my friends and will continue to do so.
