Interesting antagonist.
Revisado: 04-18-25
A little too much scientific details. I found the ending to be a let down. Very preachy and I found the conclusion to be rather hopeless. Also I don't really believe this author truly understands the meaning of Christianity, only the dogma. If I accept his conclusions, then life would be pointless and just existing is the point. Then why bother, every for themselves. Otherwise, interesting story.

The whodunnit mystery.
Revisado: 11-09-24
The story was interesting and kept me involved. My only real complaint seems to be a typical problem in entertainment these days: unsatisfying snd/or unresolved endings, or the bad guys or entity wins. if I want real life endings, I can just watch the news. There are no heroes or any hope in these books or shows. Just one women's opinion here.

From the mind of the man Stephen King calls "a master of the macabre", comes a brilliant new collection of no-punches-pulled horror stories, some never-before-collected and many originals that have never been published anywhere before. Bentley Little can take the innocuous, twist it around, and write a story that will change your way of thinking. Walking Alone: Short Stories is a shining example of his talent to scare you, creep you out, and make you shudder.

what was the point?
Revisado: 04-30-24
Sorry, folks. Normally, I find Mr. Bentley 's books entertaining. After a few stories, I was disappointed and gave up. If you like short horror stories without satisfying endings, this one is for you. I could have accepted that if most of them had a point. I was only left scratching my head. Glad I got this one for free.

Good but
Revisado: 02-20-23
This narrator was great as always. It was very interesting and kept wanting to hear more. However, I did have a couple of issues that stood out to me. In all their gathering of essentials, they never once considered medicine or medical supplies, something you would think the surgeon and vet would certainly want. Also, no one considered gathering reference books and materials to learn about living without essentials of modern life that would eventually run out besides gas and oil, etc. and other skills like carpentry. Otherwise, a good read.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

He's done it again! Fascinating story and characters. It's a fairy tale like the original stories, not the sanitized ones that are told now by Disney and such. And yes, the ending is satisfying. The narrator was great, he was matter of fact in relating the narrative but very well emotive when voicing the dialog of the characters. Great story!

Historia
Brad Woods has performed a lot of autopsies, but never one like this. The body is purged of all blood. Fear has made Sue Wing run from the darkened school and into night, a fear so powerful she can only name it using the Cantonese myths of her grandmother: Cup-hu-girngsi, the corspe who drinks blood. Reporters like Rich Carter don't believe in the supernatural, but all the signs are pointing to the same conclusion: a vampire is stalking the streets of Rio Verde. No, Rich Carter doesn't believe in such things. Not yet.

CREEPY
Revisado: 10-01-22
Pretty creepy. Interesting characters. The only part I hated was the hurting of the children. Yes, it made me hate the creature even more which I guess was the point but it sickened me. On the whole, it was good, suspenseful and scary.

Historia
The daughter of a Legion war hero, fighting was in Andien Broxin's blood. But the battles Republic marines face on strange and alien worlds are a far cry from the vaunted, brutal, no-holds-barred conflicts fought at the edge of the galaxy by the elite legionnaires. Until a devastating war erupts right in the Republic’s stellar backyard. Newly stationed on a mid-core planet being harassed by terrorist revolutionaries, Andien and her fellow “hullbusters” find themselves right in the middle of a desperate fight for survival.

good but a little slow to start
Revisado: 06-21-20
I liked it, especially the last half. slow to start and confusing as I didn't know what they were talking about. Who were the aliens, what were they, and unsure about who the MCR were. I felt as if I was supposed to already know the settings, the weapons and the basic background. That made it hard to follow at first. Once the action started, however, hoorah!

But Shining is now something more than human. And the scrapyard is no longer just a scrapyard, but a place full of secrets. This life she has built, while empty, is predictable and safe. good and bad
Revisado: 04-08-20
It was interesting yet confusing. I cared about the main characters but didn't really get what all had happened to her. There was a lot of techno talk that the author seemed to think we would understand and a lot of abbreviations. It would have been much better without so much techno babble and insinuating things that I guess we were supposed to know about. Color me confused.

Historia
Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans—a warm, wise, and witty memoir written by Lucy herself. The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. No comedienne had made America laugh so hard, no television actress had made the leap from radio and B movies to become one of the world’s best-loved performers. This is her story—in her own words.

The real scoop
Revisado: 01-24-20
It was good to hear the true story from the one who lived it. Lucy tells her story with honesty and compassion. I came away liking Desi and Lucy. They became more human and less idealized. A truly fascinating look at 2 beloved stars and the other celebrities that lived at that time. Also, I came away humbled at how much we judge people without really knowing the whole story.
