This book is an extremely difficult read/listen. There isn't a real philosophical approach to this book and how to face these 'five regrets'. There's a lot of running around and not providing any definitive explanations as to what the title falsely advertises.

There's a large portion of the book that has zero relevance to the subjects at hand, there's a lack of getting to the point and making a precise explanation. It contains a lot of the victimhood mentality and how the author relishes in self pity. There isn't a set structure within the book either.

What's the life transformation? What are the biggest regrets that are commonly seen by those near death? This book doesn't include x amount of patients expressed x problems and regrets at their dying moments. What scientific study(ies) are related to this? It's a woe is me kind of book that doesn't hold up to facts and reality. Yes, people will regret things when they're older and wish they did something different but there's zero validity behind this book. It's too generalized and focused on the author to hold any weight.

The Five Topics it barely discusses:
People aren't true to themselves (projection by the author)
Wishing one didn't work so hard
Wishing to express feelings/emotions
Wishing one had stayed in touch with friends
Wishing to let oneself be happier

Instead of writing a so called 'book' about her supposed life struggles, a therapist would have been a much better route for the author to take. Approx. 20% of the end of the book is about her personal trials and tribulations with depression and songwriting at a females prison. That didn't connect with the focus of that part. It lost it's value, it's meaning, and the content wasn't there. It seemed to be filler words for an 8 page college paper with run on sentencing.

It seems the author is having a 9/10 life crisis. Didn't go down the right paths in her life, enjoyed doing the bare minimum in the beginning, and now wants something to make up for her lack of self awareness and her own self sabotaging actions.

I want my money back. This book and the supposed 4.5 ratings doesn't hold up to what is being advertised.

This book discusses the basics as to what some of the challenges, benefits, and tax structures present when opening and operating an LLC. There's a lot of theoretical cases that are realistic and more commonplace. Great book on the basic setup, ideology, and structure. Would recommend.

I was hoping this book would be more factually based and historical evidence intertwined, but it's quite skewed on what's happened. It doesn't cover the effects of psychedelics as to what it does to human consciousness and the scientific studies associated.

This book has a strong leftist skewed perspective on history and leaves out a substantial amount of historical information.

Would look elsewhere for nonfiction. this should fall under realistic fiction.

This book isn't black and white. "If you do x, you'll get y." It's a book on how to look within, realize you're not the only one facing these adversities, and there's a way to overcome the current situation(s) you're facing. There's a focus on becoming the archetype of a man, not on what modern society is pushing for. Would definitely recommend.

Dr. Gibson opens up the minds as to how and why people think the way they think due to the situations that they've been in. This book provides a great deal on insight for the adult child who was raised with emotionally immature parents. Why/how individuals act the way they act, the defensive mechanisms, and the most common outcomes. There's an interesting topic of individuals who have the mindset of internalizing and externalizing. How someone who internalizes can be impacted dramatically more in certain circumstances compared to those who have the externalizing mindset.

The book was written factually, non biased, and with evidence of studies. It wasn't bashing or belittling anyone. It was presenting the evidence. Some individuals might have difficulty with what the book discusses and how certain things can't be changed.

Sowell covers a great deal of controversial topics in this book. It is written for those with an open mindset to see the facts Sowell has gathered. There are numerous chapters that contradict what the main stream media promotes. There is a validity behind demolishing certain studies that have a skewed agenda behind their work.

This book covers: the slave trade outside of the US, the gender pay gap results, high crime locations, real restate prices, executive pay, the ghettos/slums in the cities, discrimination history, and international influence. Now, with the emphasis on these matters, it's challenge for certain individuals with a liberal mindset to fully understand or accept.

For those who haven't had an economics class could have some difficulty understanding some of the content behind his research. Numbers don't always align with emotional goals, i.e. 'social justice'. There is some clarification as to why that would be a misnomer to society.

Ed Mylett hits a notable amount of points in the philosophical self improvement. There's a focus on developing a faith based practice and actions needed for self development. Mylett gives personal examples of what he's gone through and how he's used some of the adversities as a pathway of growth. Instead of being a victim he has the survivor mindset. That is something I respect. Having the drive for self improvement and self reflection is something not everyone has or is willing to work on. But those that do, have a stronger chance for success and freedom.

This allegorical story has some realistic content behind the message. Touching on the expenses of eating out, expensive vehicles, unnecessary purchases, having a demanding job that isn't worth the efforts behind it, etc. However, this storyline wasn't as informative as expected. The content was vague and more of an entertainment book. I would look elsewhere for more informative knowledge.

This book has a notable amount of dark content. It is quite realistic and graphic. The sailors activities in the bar, the experimental treatment processes, and the aftermath are vivid and real world writings. The focus on what is moral and socially acceptable has a profound statement. The story line bounces from a tragedy to a comedy.

There was some loss in translation that took some extra effort in understanding the old English language. After developing a better understanding of the language, it was more in depth. Moloko, adinoky, Karman, Nadsat, and more were some of the words that aren't used in modern English.

For the most part I enjoyed this book. It hit a great deal of topics that were insightful. focusing on the long term goals, finances, and relationships were a key factor. how certain individuals have the self sabotaging agenda and how to overcome that. I wasn't too particularly impressed with the history of drug use and how it was glorified on the accomplishment of overcoming that.
