Historia
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.

Truth can be complex
Revisado: 10-11-22
My childhood was somewhat like the author’s and I love that she revealed every single aspect of an abusive relationship. My fear was that the main character would take the abuser back in the story and they would live happily ever after. That would not be a true to life ending. It was a little cheesy to end with her back to the handsome, successful old boyfriend, but I do appreciate happy endings that are only slightly unbelievable. I plan to research more books by this author. Thank you for including resources for help.

If Avery Chambers can’t fix you in 10 sessions, she won’t take you on as a client. Her successes are phenomenal—she helps people overcome everything from domineering parents to assault—and almost absorbs the emptiness she sometimes feels since her husband’s death. Marissa and Mathew Bishop seem like the golden couple—until Marissa cheats. She wants to repair things, both because she loves her husband and for the sake of their eight-year-old son. After a friend forwards an article about Avery, Marissa takes a chance on this maverick therapist.

Enjoying the journey
Revisado: 03-28-22
The theme “appearances can be deceiving” is presented well throughout the plot. I enjoyed the twist on a traditional theme where the appearances are “golden” and surprisingly hiding something incredibly ugly. Connecting past events to the current issues is a good strategy. The side story of the therapist’s troubles distracted the flow from time to time - so Ben with the tie to a minor character. I would recommend this book to readers of romance and mystery.

Historia
London, 1925: In a world of townhomes and tennis matches, socialites and shooting parties, Miss Nan O’Dea became Archie Christie’s mistress, luring him away from his devoted and well-known wife, Agatha Christie. The question is, why? Why destroy another woman’s marriage, why hatch a plot years in the making, and why murder? How was Nan O’Dea so intricately tied to those 11 mysterious days that Agatha Christie went missing?

Looking back and making connections
Revisado: 03-15-22
Starting with the title referencing a well loved writer, this novel takes the reader on a journey of heartbreak, romance, unfortunate circumstances and leads to a happy ending. I absolutely enjoyed the twists and turns down this path. One critical comment is Nan’s or the narrator’s constant intrusion and information about how she ends her journey before it is over. As a reader, I always hope for the best for the characters and she “burst my bubble” of hope a few times throughout the story. Even so, there were enough surprises to keep this reader wanting to know what would happen next.

Overall pretty unique perspective
Revisado: 02-18-22
I wouldn’t recommend this novel to many people, but I did enjoy another perspective on the judgement of women and particularly one whose behavior concerning parenting is less than pristine.

Historia
Renowned author Delphine Larue needs a haven. A crazed fan has gone over the deep end, and she’s not safe. Her security team has suggested a house by a lake. Secluded. Private. Far away. In a beautiful area of the Northwest close to the sleepy town of Misted Pines. It’s perfect. So perfect, Delphine has just moved in, and she’s thinking she’ll stay there forever. Until she sees the girl in the mist.

No need fo so ch foul references
Revisado: 02-18-22
I wanted to like this story from the premise of a smart and in danger primary character to the girl who comes out of the mist looking for a strong female roll model. However, the pornographic references are nothing but cheats in my not so humbled opinion when a writer has a weak and underdeveloped plot.

Historia
Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by. Since Gran died a few months ago, twenty-five-year-old Molly has been navigating life’s complexities all by herself. No matter—she throws herself with gusto into her work as a hotel maid. Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job.

Wonderfully Written
Revisado: 02-18-22
I enjoyed this novel from the first page to the final one. The characters are vivid and it’s easy to identify the protagonist. Even so, there are plenty of twists and surprises to keep the reader’s attention. I highly recommend this novel.

Historia
At times stern, at other times patient, at times perceptive, at other times in sad denial, Olive Kitteridge, a retired schoolteacher, deplores the changes in her little town of Crosby, Maine, and in the world at large, but she doesn’t always recognize the changes in those around her: a lounge musician haunted by a past romance; a former student who has lost the will to live; Olive’s own adult child, who feels tyrannized by her irrational sensitivities; and her husband, Henry, who finds his loyalty to his marriage both a blessing and a curse.

Too choppy
Revisado: 01-25-20
It wasn’t easy to stay connected to the common thread. Olive’s name is mentioned in each section but the cohesiveness was lacking. Each section needed a clear conclusion and none had one. It might be a great read for someone who enjoys this type of writing but it is not my preference.

Disappointed
Revisado: 04-04-18
The story line had such great potential and as an avid reader, I kept getting considering a return of the novel as the potential was never quite approached. It is believable that a child who was adopted, can suddenly appear claiming one as her father and throw a family unit into insecurity- however adding the wife’s “almost” affair, the husbands‘ lack of fortitude in any situation, and the kids as the killers of the evil interloper are completely unacceptable additions. I would not recommend this book.

Revisado: 10-12-17
The less than perfect characters made this a fantastic book from first page to last. Murder, lust, family - of all types - mystery, and true love begin to describe a bit of this page turner. I’ll look for more titles by this author.
