An interesting idea not perfectly executed.

I have mixed feelings about this book.

Maybe the ARC I received was an early edit, but it needs another good run by an editor—too many missing words and author’s blanks left to be filled. (Still wondering what GU stands for when only Tyler University—TU, is named.)

The rules were interesting but not well managed. Each chapter was named after a rule, yet some chapters contained a stated rule and some did not. In other chapters the stated rule was not in agreement with the chapter title—e.g., No rule being called out in Chapter 2, and Rules 6 & 7 being called out in Chapter 4. Annoying.

The concept of a parody of Fight Club was interesting, the characters were engaging and sexy, and the spice was on par with what I’ve come to expect from Hardison Parker, so no complaints there. I would rate the book 4+ based on these aspects, but the inconsistencies kept pulling my very detailed-oriented brain out of the story. Your milage may vary.

Update: I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version of this story. While I really enjoyed the narrator’s (R.L. Hamm) sexy voice, I found the audiobook to be plagued with audio glitches.

This one’s a winner!

Many hotwife series follow the ladies of a neighborhood, town, or social group as they, one by one, discover and enjoy the hotwife lifestyle. Natalie Hothorne turns the trope on its head by making hotwifing a historical tradition! Here she has created an interesting little town, given it a fascinating history, and populated it with truly engaging characters.

Each installment introduces us to a new hotwife, but we also learn more about characters we’ve already met and about life in Conway. She also injects some real-world lifestyle challenges into her Conway County hotwife tales that make them all the more engaging.

I’m a longtime fan of Natalie Hothorne’s writing, but I can honestly say that this is my favorite series. The premise, the characters, and the writing are all top notch. Highly recommended.

Besides purchasing the ebook, I also received the audiobook as a an advanced review copy. I wish I could say I enjoyed it as much as the book. Unfortunately, Anja Harder’s narration didn’t do the book justice. While by no means a bad performance, to me it just felt…flat. But as a long time consumer of audiobooks I know that everyone has their own idea of what a good narration sounds like, so listen to the sample and be your own judge.

A hit and a miss

A hot story coupled with a sultry narration is a beautiful thing. Unfortunately, this audiobook isn’t one of those. While I enjoyed Mara Renaud’s story, the narration left me wanting. Where the story was hot and spicy, the narration was limp and uninspired. Honestly, fifteen minutes in I gave up on the audio and picked up the e-book on Kindle Unlimited. From there it was a smooth flight.

I like Mara Renaud’s style of writing femdom, and adding a cougar/cub, age-gap dynamic with a hot stewardess to it just makes it hotter. The heat between Christina and Conner is palpable. I enjoyed this adventure and hope we get to check in on them again soon.

Renaud nails cuck angst

Donnie wants to worship Vanessa. She makes him work for the privilege.

Many authors leave cuckolding at the wife/girlfriend/mistress going out with other men while our cuck waits expectantly at home. Yes, there’s some angst, but Mara Renaud takes it to a whole other level.

Vanessa teases, torments, punishes, and rewards Donnie whether they’re together or apart. Her see-saw between cruelty and sweetness keeps him off guard and, ultimately, aching for more. This is serious cuckold angst.

At times I felt bad for Donnie and angry at Vanessa. But they are who they are, and they’re both getting what they need. Who am I to judge?

If you enjoy angsty cuckold stories, give this one a try.

Matt Williams’ voice and performance perfectly captured Donnie’s warring desire and frustrations as Vanessa’s cuck.

Decent story, but I didn’t care for the narration.

After a harried week of works projects and home responsibilities, Rob sends exhausted wife Julia off on a rest weekend with personal trainer Tristan with his blessing and encouragement to do “anything and everything” she wants with Tristan.

Landen has penned an enjoyable and spicy first time hotwife story. Unlike many stories in this genre it does not focus almost solely on the hookup action, but rather it gives time and attention to setting, buildup of tension, and the reason Julia is on this retreat—relaxation. When the action does get underway, it’s hot and satisfying. I only wish the story could have included Rob and Julia reconnecting as she recounted her weekend adventure.

I didn’t really care for Aracelis Gotay’s narration. She has a pleasant voice, and her female characterization is fine, but her male characterizations completely pulled me out of the story. I would have preferred she use her own voice for all characters

Where it al began for Miri

Miri has her first hotwife experience with husband Joey’s friend Zane.

I’ve read and enjoyed the other Miri stories, and it was fun seeing where it all began for her and Joey. Miri’s experience with Zane answers some long-held questions and fantasies, and reaffirms for her that she married the right man.

Lacey Cross hotwife stories are fun, spicy reads that focus on the wife’s pleasure and the enthusiastic encouragement of the husband. Little to no angst on hubby’s part, and the only light humiliation is the dirty names the wives are called by their lover—which they welcome and enjoy.

Melody Mae’s voice is the perfect match for this hotwife tale. Sweet, sultry, Mmm…

This collection of stories takes us on a journey with Jessica and Lucas as they enter and explore the hotwife lifestyle. Starting with a camping trip loaded with sexy challenges to a horny Halloween party to adventures with multiple men.

Each of the five stories follows the arc of Lucas finding a man (or men) to be with his wife, she has a wonderful time as the object of their lust, then he takes her home and reclaims her. While the arc is the same, the stories are varied enough to make each an enjoyable treat. Lacey Cross’s writing is consistently solid, and each story takes us further along Jessica’s hotwife journey. Overall, a very solid and spicy collection.

While Ruan Willow is not my favorite female voice, her performance is consistently excellent in this collection. It was a treat to have a real male voice doing all the male characters, and Mr. InMyHands Audio really delivers. The pair make this collection a very pleasurable listen.

It’s never too ate to explore with your partner

A forty-ish couple in a 20-year marriage is a nice change from the typical young dirty thirties. Watching a more mature couple take their marriage in a new direction was interesting.

I liked how Amanda thought giving Rich freeuse was going to lead to her immediate satisfaction and then to her chagrin he kept edging her along and leaving her hanging. The buildup was slow and steady and felt right for this couple. The payoff for Amanda (and us) was worth the wait.

Lily Canon’s narration was excellent and really felt like the right voice for a forty-ish woman. I’d like to listen to more of her narrations.

A bridal party to remember!

I enjoyed the premise of five ladies of a bridal party with five sexy stories all interconnected by their experiences over one multi-wedding weekend. The stories got longer and hotter as the series progressed.

All of these stories are written in first person present tense, so it puts you right in the heart of the action.

I thought the stories were well written, very well edited, and pretty darn hot. Whether it was their first time or their best time, these ladies really embraced their freeuse experiences. Hopefully it will not be their last, and Lacey will tell us all about it.

If I would change anything, it would be to have a little more development of the freeuse dynamic between the ladies and their husbands. Each of these stories worked towards the wife being with a group of men - sometimes with the husband directing the action. To me this feels more like group sex or hotwifing rather than the anytime/anywhere availability of freeuse. But regardless of the label you use, these stories are hot.

I read the series when it first came out in ebook, but I recently got the opportunity to enjoy this series being read to me by the sexy voice of Melody Mae. I have to say it made the stories even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend both author and narrator.

I liked the series and will look for more Lacey Cross books to read and enjoy.

Miri gets used as a pleasure toy

Accompanying Joey on a business vacation, Miri knows that an evening with Caleb is in the plans. But she’s thrilled when sexy, older Ben gets added to the mix.

Miri gets taken to new heights as she’s simultaneously used by these two, well-hung gentlemen. Meanwhile, Joey has the best seat in the house to see all the action.

This is one of my favorite Lacey Cross hotwife stories. The intense pleasure Miri experiences with Caleb and Ben is palpable. And the love between Miri and Joey makes them one of my favorite Cross couples. A perfect blend of heat and heart.

I experienced this story as an audiobook, and the sexy voice of Melody Mae was the perfect pairing with Miri’s adventurous evening.
