Historia
[Contains sensitive content] Once a sleepy, well-to-do town on the border with Texas, how had Allende become a stronghold for the notoriously brutal Zetas cartel? Residents and lawmakers relive the town’s terrifying takeover, enforced by the cartel’s gunmen and local police-turned-henchmen. Former Zetas operatives reveal how they asserted power not just in Allende, but the entire region on the Mexico-US border.

Terrifying true story told with dramatic voices
Revisado: 05-21-18
The drug cartel story unfolds like a slow burn...it's easy to forget that this is actually based on true events, since the voices are so theatrically convincing (esp Danny Trejo's--love that guy!) and create its own encapsulated world of terror. I felt for all characters (good and diabolical), I didn't want it to end, and I hope that the audio world develops more hybrid stories like this. Thank you to the creators--fantastic reporting and drama!
