Historia
The year is 1815, and an American, Miss Amelia Stonehold, has arrived in the Devon town of Axminster, accompanied by her "cousin" Serena Meleva. She's brought with her a list to tick off: find a property, investigate the neighbors, bargain for and purchase the property, staff the property and . . . possibly . . . find a husband. But Amelia soon finds herself contending with some decidedly off-list trouble, including the Honorable Captain Harold Roughtower, whose eyes are fixed on her fortune.

No story. Just day to day regency with magic for lucky rich people.
Revisado: 04-11-25
Lackey has good world building. It is fun to see Bridgerton world with elemental magicians. But that is all it is. Main characters only have good luck all the time. Help from nobles and so on. The only strife or adventure is in the last 45 minutes of the story. No romance, no character growth, no toiling. Just a happy stroll through regency England with magicians. Rather disappointing.

Great book. Smart young Victorian girl with a love for Egyptology. Great book for those who love Amelia Peabody. And my 7 yr old loves it too.

Historia
All she wanted to do was live her life in peace—maybe get a cat, expand the family spice farm. Really, anything that didn't involve going on an adventure where an orc might rip her face off. But they say the Goddess has favorite, and if so, Cin is clearly not one of them... After saving the demon Fallon in a wine-drunk stupor, all Fallon wants to do is kill an evil witch enslaving his people. And, who can blame him? But he's dragging Cinnamon along for the ride. On the bright side, at least he keeps burning off his shirt.

fun southern spicy romance with dragons
Revisado: 03-29-25
This book is just fun. The story is standard romance but the dialogue and steamy were so much fun. Hilarious southern humor and fun. I couldn’t stop laughing.

Not really sure the point of the story
Revisado: 03-29-25
Story had a good premise and set up but didn’t do much with it. Was fun doing some exploring of the ship. The villains though were kind of pointless and love interest was a bit bullish. The ending was very rushed.

Tried to be Legends and Lattes
Revisado: 03-29-25
This book is a cute comfy finding your place book. Tried to bring the same feel as Legends and Lattes. Didn’t quite get there. Characters are kind of flat, no character growth, predicable outcomes. But a nice cozy happy ending read for those looking for that feel.

Overly dramatic
Revisado: 03-25-25
The narrator was awesome but the story was lacking. The story took for ever to get any where. The characters are all very one dimensional. No redemption, no growth of character just same temper/ irrational/ stubborn responses. Seemed like it tried to be Firefly/Serenity space cowboys but fell really short.

Rather boring
Revisado: 04-14-23
Interesting world set up at first but then the story kept contradicting itself. Warned not to do this and then the character has to do it with no choice. The last half of the book is so tedious. Really wished I could skim a head so annoying. Main character is not relatable and very annoying. The romance really comes out of no where. Not sure how romance built. Friendship maybe but devoted love to suffer for them. Not even close. I really don’t recommend this. Should have been like 4 hrs shorter.
