Historia
Democracies can die with a coup d'état - or they can die slowly. This happens most deceptively when in piecemeal fashion, with the election of an authoritarian leader, the abuse of governmental power and the complete repression of opposition. All three steps are being taken around the world - not least with the election of Donald Trump - and we must all understand how we can stop them.

Beware the I's that March!
Revisado: 06-14-23
An absolute "must read" for everyone and especially for the growing numbers of "it's all about me" folk who are so easily fooled by big MEgalomaniacs into believing the biggest Me is really (so long as you blindly accept everything he says as reality) there for you and; therefore, should be unquestionably followed as is the divine right of any king (a.k.a. the boss of all me folk).

Historia
Here is a stirring fictional account of the amazing real-life story of John Riley, an Irishman who led his men to desert the American military during the Mexican-American War, as seen through the eyes of two memorable narrators. It is June 1845, and Paddy Quinn is a camp boy for the American army which is bound for Mexico. A young man with journalistic aspirations, Paddy writes letters for illiterate soldiers and learns that, like him, many are Irish, including the enigma John Riley.

Explosive Revelations! Real war from every angle.

Any additional comments?
If you only ever read one story of war, it should be this well and uniquely crafted piece of historic fiction. This is the story of a war that the victors would prefer to forget or, failing that, to remember differently. It is written by a soldier-historian from the point of view of both sides. In short, war is hell but one side’s devil can be other guy’s saint. If, after reading this, you do not immediately check Google to determine if any or all of the events or players are accurately portrayed, it can only mean you do not have access to the internet.

Historia
The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

Brain Candy!!!
Revisado: 06-26-12
Would you listen to World War Z again? Why?
This is the only zombie story everyone needs to hear.
What did you like best about this story?
It is a tight and entertaining traipse through today's social condition with enough brain candy for everyone regardless of their love or hate for the zombie genre.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
This incredibly fresh take on an otherwise stale storyline is made even fresher with the addition of a horde of accomplished narrators.
Any additional comments?
If this doesn't get you thinking about the world you live in, you might be a zombie.
