Historia
Francis Parkman's journal - written more than 150 years ago, in 1846 - provides an eye-witness account of one of the grandest adventures in American history. At age 23, the Harvard-educated Bostonian traveled the Rocky Mountains, living among the Dakota Sioux. In his journal, he captured the color, spirit, and perspective of his era, as well as the exuberant confidence that was the mark of his time. Frank Muller's dramatic reading brings this captivating record to life.

Insufferable
Revisado: 10-27-21
Narcissistic and hypocritical, that sums it all up. it's not interesting if you are into travel or have a love for our plan, he talks very little about this. it is just another over the top climate change (we are all going to die), but if we just come together and love we will be ok.
if you're into guys talk big, but act small; you will like this book. if you are convinced the world will end in ten years because of climate change, then you will also like this book. if you were tricked by an "included" book and took a chance on it, then you will be disappointed as I am now. don't support bad content like this, there are better books about climate change that don't have to come from a guy with a chip on his shoulder.

An applied animal behaviorist and dog trainer with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Patricia McConnell looks at humans as just another interesting species, and muses about why we behave the way we do around our dogs, how dogs might interpret our behavior, and how to interact with our dogs in ways that bring out the best in them.

Good product, bad package
Revisado: 09-16-21
it's good info, I just don't find Patricia as someone I would like. her humor is insufferable, and the points she makes aside from dogs distasteful. comes off as "higher than you too," attitude. lastly she contradicts most of what she says, especially if she can give a verbal lashing on the subject, then she explains she herself does it too, and why it is good.
I find people with any level of misanthropy to be especially vile. Patricia, like many of her education cohorts, looks down her nose on most who read her book.
this book was recommended to me, I won't do the same with this book.

Historia
The revised and updated edition of Lt. Col. Dave Grossman's modern classic about the psychology of combat, hailed by the Washington Post as "an illuminating account of how soldiers learn to kill and how they live with the experiences of having killed". In World War II, only 15 to 20 percent of combat infantry were willing to fire their rifles. In Korea, about 50 percent. In Vietnam, the figure rose to more than 90 percent. The good news is that most soldiers are loath to kill.

Historia
Their plans were conceived in a drunken excitement and resulted in more horror than any of them could have imagined. There was the poet able to retreat into beatific reveries of superb fishing in cold, fast streams; the Vietnam vet consumed by uppers, downers, and violence; and the girl who loved only one of them - at first. With their ideals ostensibly in order, they set out from Florida to save the Grand Canyon from a dam they believed was being built. Along with the tape deck for the car, the liquor, and the drugs, there was also a case of dynamite.

Pretty much soft-core porn
Revisado: 08-25-21
they main protagonist just goes on and on about wanting to sleep with his buddy's girl, his buddy wants to blow up the dam, and the girl doesn't know what is going on. none of the characters are particularly likeable; the girl is ok, but that is only because she is boring.
if you like "catcher in the Rye" or Bob Dylan all day long, then this book might appeal to you; otherwise I might just find something else to read.
Jim Harrison is a good writer and fun to enjoy just for how it flows, I just wish his stories were better. I gave him some stars just for writing well.
