Historia
The Other End of the Leash shares a revolutionary new perspective on our relationship with dogs, focusing on our behavior in comparison with that of dogs. An applied animal behaviorist and dog trainer with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Patricia McConnell looks at humans as just another interesting species, and muses about why we behave the way we do around our dogs, how dogs might interpret our behavior, and how to interact with our dogs in ways that bring out the best in them.

Probably the best advice I've received regarding communicating with my, or any, dogs. I really enjoyed this audio tape. I may add this hard copy to my library for reference and to reread.

A beautiful tapestry.
Revisado: 02-27-24
Ms McConnell's extensive knowledge and intense understanding of behavior, both of dogs and people, has really opened my eyes. I've spent a lot of years studying other trainers and animal behaviorists, and there is no comparison to what I've learned from her stories. My relationship with my dog has improved so much in just the last few months since I discovered her books. This book is no different, and yet there is so much more
The summary written for this Audible book is an accurate and thoughtful description for what I feel is an emotional and insightful journey for the reader.

Absolutely loved!
Revisado: 09-07-23
At first I was a little taken aback by the softness of the narrator's voice, but it soon grew on me and was very enjoyable to listen to. This is an extremely insightful book, not only about the minds of dogs, but also of people and how we connect with our dogs. There is a mix of interesting, heartwarming, and at times perilous stories that correlate with the scientific aspect of the book. I learned much from this book and enjoyed it immensely. I highly recommend it, and I plan to listen to her other books soon.

Historia
Thinking all monasteries were like the ones he saw in the movies, Jesse Itzler arrived at the New Skete religious community in remote Cambridge, New York, with a shaved head and a suitcase filled with bananas. To his surprise, New Skete monks have most of their hair. They're Russian Orthodox, not Buddhist, and they're also world-renowned dog breeders and authors of dog-training books that have sold in the millions.

I find Jesse easy to listen to. This book was, as he said, spoken like a diary, and i was totally invested in his story. What he learned from this experience he eloquently shares with his listeners/readers. I've listened to the entire audiobook twice now, and will probably revisit it again in the future. The lessons he shares I have found invaluable to my life going forward. Once again, thank you Jesse. P.S. A book for each experience on the F-it list would be great!

my thoughts
Revisado: 12-30-22
At first I was disappointed by the pace and lack of Matthew's light-hearted though snarky humor. I increased the speed to 120% and found the sweet spot. There is quite a bit of dry humor thrown in, and I liked it the more I listened. I'm thinking that no one can ingest as many drugs without ending up dead, nevermind without a slight slur (for those who commented). Listen to the end - it feels good. Thanks Matty.

Roger this!
Revisado: 12-01-22
I loved listening to this book and didn't want it to end. I think every word is worth a listen, but for those who couldn't finish it I recommend at least heading to the last chapter or three to see how the story ends. it motivated me to pull out another 10 to 20% in my workouts, as I have done earlier in my life. It was a painful challenge, and the f word played frequently in my mind, but so worth it because it paid off in many ways. I'm 63 and used common sense, as I'm not about to risk my long-term health at this point. That said, I don't think common sense played into David's mindset for many of the things he did. He just did them MFr! Roger that! Listening to Jesse's book now - on day 9.

Quintessential Russell Brand - ever evolving and intensely provocative in his narration. Listening to this extremely bright human has never ceased to inspire, enlighten, dig up emotions, and entertain. There, of course, is a generous sprinkling of chuckles throughout. One of the best audio books I've listened to - loved it!

Loved every minute
Revisado: 07-16-21
I often find it difficult to listen to audible books because the narrator doesn't meet my expectations. This was narrated wonderfully, and I was interested every step of the way. The only time I ever backed it up was when someone interrupted me from listening. It was interesting to me not only because I've recently started working with my dog with talking buttons, but I found the knowledge she imparts about her speech therapy experience to be fundamental in my success. All of those things aside, it was a fun read about a couple and their new dog having fun and experiencing this life together.
