Historia
This festive collection takes you from Frogmorton Farm to the Time Police HQ in five short stories from across the worlds of Jodi Taylor - including the internationally bestselling Chronicles of St Mary's series. It wouldn't be The Most Wonderful Time of the Year without riotous misbehaviour, traditional illegal expeditions, and a story you just can't stop listening to.

These are a few of my favorite things…
Revisado: 12-27-23
I love Jodi Taylor’s work. Her story telling is first rate. This collection of shorter works is so much fun. The annual Christmas story has become part of my family’s tradition. Keep up the good work!

Difficult storyline, may need a trigger alert warning
Revisado: 11-22-20
When my husband introduced me to the Kurtherians, I was skeptical. I am not fond of Godlike MC’s. I did however enjoy the world and enough of the characters to continue along in the series. As I picked up the THWalton chronicles,I swallowed my dislike of post apocalyptic literature,( I was raised by a survivalist in the 60’s. What authors don’t get right is very irritating) and was pleasantly surprised by the way post nuclear society was envisioned by Craig. Until this book. The torture scenes feel gratuitous, or at least triggering for readers with PTSD. I don’t see how this event in the NOMAD timeline was necessary. My husband suggested that I just move on to the next book, I did pass over the THW prison chapters. I don’t read thrillers with torture motifs because I am snowflake. I wish I had had better information before I started reading this one.

Interesting Arc and series ending
Revisado: 11-08-20
When I read Death becomes Her, I did not anticipate that I would still be reading/ listening to this series 21 books later. I was intrigued by the Mission Impossible vibe found in the first book and discovered I cared about the characters and their success. It was enough for me to overlook plotting errors and author missteps that in other books have ended my interest in the author.
As an educator who teaches writing and storytelling, it has been very interesting to watch Michael Anderle become a more proficient and sophisticated writer. I’m glad I continued with the series. The books of the last arc are much better than the first.
I enjoyed more than I expected the narrator and authors notes at the end of each book. Understanding the mind of the author and the interpreter has improved my enjoyment of the world created and helped me feel like I was part of a conversation about this series. It was a delightful surprise that I hope other authors will consider.

Paranormal procedural at its best
Revisado: 07-29-20
I have been waiting with baited breath for this installment of the Soulwood series. Faith Hunters group of paranormal detectives, as seen through the eyes of Nell Ingram are a favorite of mine. The integration of fast paced procedural with the vagaries of paranormals in a hostile world never fails to interest me.
In this installment, Nell is struggling with becoming the guardian to her sisters, both the 12 year old and the 18 year old. At her work with PSYLED, she is quickly immersed in a high profile case that drags her into the world of country music, horse breeding and the emergence of a new and deadly form of magical expression. Nell has to depend on both her friends family and her relationship with the land to safely lead her team out of this one.
