At times the insecurities of the two main characters made me crazy, they both seemed so slow to"get it" but sometimes we are. a satisfying and fully developed story.

Thousands of readers have come home to Mitford, the little town with the big heart, whose endearing and eccentric residents have become like family members. But now change is coming to the hamlet. Father Tim, the Episcopal rector, and his wife Cynthia are pondering retirement; a brash new mayoral candidate is calling for aggressive development; a suspicious realtor with plans for a health spa is eyeing the beloved house on the hill; and, worst of all, the Sweet Stuff Bakery may be closing.

I Missed John McDonough
Revisado: 08-19-23
I love reading Jan Karon's books. I thoroughly enjoyed her narration in Bathed in Prayer but reading her own novel - just not the same without McDonough. I had to buy the book and read it instead of listening to the audiobook.

Excellent Sequel
Revisado: 08-19-23
A Man Called Blessed is an excellent sequel to the first book. These two books are among Dekker's best and most challenging to my soul, pulling me/inspiring me to pursuing a deeper experience with God.

Too much Occult for me
Revisado: 08-19-23
I was looking forward to listening to this book but too much of the story depended on tarot card predictions and such as that - which I don't like to listen to. Most Star Trek stories have little to no occult or new age activity which is one reason why I prefer Star Trek. - Thought I should leave this review as a warning for people like me
