An enjoyable 8 hours of listening!

I found this story to be engaging, suspenseful, thrilling; and so enjoyable that I immediately searched the author's name for other works. The narrator, Jane Oppenheimer was outstanding too.

Historia
The world has changed. Now, when someone is murdered, they almost always come back to life—and there are professionals, called “dispatchers”, who kill in order to save lives, to give those near the end a second chance. Tony Valdez is a dispatcher, and he has never been busier. But for as much as the world has changed, some things have stayed the same. Greed, corruption, and avarice are still in full swing.

What a way to travel!
Revisado: 03-31-23
I have loved & I do mean LOVED this entire series. I admit I haven't read anything else from John Scalzi although I have heard good things about his other books. However, I'm here to be a witness to the fact that I have absolutely enjoyed all (3) books in The Dispatcher series. The first book blew me away with the whole concept of murder and being regenerated...reborn, whatever you wanna call it. The storyline is sharp, quick and intriguing. Zachary Quinto does an excellent job of bringing Tony Valdez to life, as well as, smoothly moving the reader around a fast-paced story. Don't skip the order of books start at number one and go all the way through until you reach number three. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I have.

Love it! I was drawn in from the very beginning. So interesting, juicy, scandalous and horrifying due to the lengths people will go for power and money. Love Love Love Alice & Matt! Their humor is needed for such heavy subject matter. Keep it coming!

It was so so
Revisado: 04-18-22
The story started off pretty good, but then things started going left. Like when the different characters were remembering what each other were saying to them in previous conversations or observations. The voices were so weird. I kinda got lost with all the strange voice changes. Also, the ending was so darn lame like the author was trying to come up with something spooky, paranormal and intriguing. It was awful how it got rushed to this completely bonkers ending. So unfortunate bcs it did have some potential early on, until it didn't. So glad it was in the Plus Audible section, I would've freaked if I'd used one of my precious credits for it.

It seems like the perfect job. Great wages, accommodation provided and all located within the walls of Highwood Hall, a stunning stately home owned by the Howard family. Really good storyline and character descriptions and development. Sophie Rundle brought the story to life with her beautiful voice and accent, and her ability to bring life to the words written by Sarah Denzil. Even though this title was in the Audible Plus selections, I certainly would have gladly used a credit for it.

Historia
‘Getting lost to find yourself’ stories don’t often involve going to prison, unless you're award-winning comedian Angella Dravid. Love, Rock Bottom and other Triumphs is her story inspired by true events of a dorky teen who runs away from her dysfunctional family to marry her chat-room true love, almost 30 years her senior and living on the other side of the earth. BUT things get bad. Like, terrible. Yet, this is a surprisingly uplifting journey of finding yourself.

Extreme Honesty & Beautifully Expressed
Revisado: 09-26-21
I loved this podcast and hated when the end came. I wanted to continue on an extended journey with Angella...she's amazing! I just really liked her perspective in sharing her experiences. Her ex-husband and the criminal justice failed her horribly...they didn't even try to get it right. The truth is, an upbeat or positive attitude in handling life's ups and downs...and a little ignorance during the process helps the pain of the downs not hurt so much. I hope she does further podcast and I would love to hear her comedy as well. All the best to Angella!

Revisado: 04-23-21
Stephen Chbosky sews a quilt about this life and all it's troubles & it's victories where the threads that design it and mend it all together is LOVE! Excellent narration by Christine Lakin who brought every character to life in an unforgettable way. I found this work compelling yet a bit repetitive and lengthy. Overall, a superb listen.
