M. R. James is one of the finest English language ghostwriters ever published. These short stories are not only classics of their genre, but are outstanding examples of beautifully paced, understated terror and sociological horror, reaching to the dark expanse of the unconscious mind.

The stories are old-school, but as such quite enjoyable. GDL's narration is excellent, unhurried, he does voices and accents superbly. Fairbairn is also good, but Bayldon is bellow par.

It's a pretty decent story as TW audiobooks go. Eve Myles does a good job with the narration - not as good as GDL with "Sin Eaters", but much better than Barrowman with "Another Life".

So far this is my favorite one of the Torchwood audio books. The story is a little campy, but in a good way. Gareth's narration is first-rate; he does the various character voices and accents very convincingly.
