Great character development and storyline
Revisado: 02-13-25
I really like this series because it’s satisfies my need for a good detective series while also providing excellent character development and great storylines. The authors, understanding of trauma is phenomenal and really adds to the dimension of her main character. Have really enjoyed this series and would highly recommend. Don’t love the narrator as her pronunciation is terrible!

Historia
Alex Armstrong has changed everything about herself—her name, her appearance, her backstory. She’s no longer the terrified teenager a rapt audience saw on television, emerging in handcuffs from the quiet suburban home the night her family was massacred. That girl, Alexandra Quinlan, nicknamed Empty Eyes, was accused of the killings, fought to clear her name, and later took the stand during her highly publicized defamation lawsuit that captured the attention of the nation. It’s been ten years since, and Alex hasn’t stopped searching for answers about the night her family was killed.

Consistent high quality mysteries
Revisado: 05-30-24
I have read all the previous Nikki hunt books and love them. They’re always original and well thought out with twists and turns that make them intriguing right up until the end. Will continue reading this series and anything else by this author.

Historia
Ten years ago, after a sun-soaked summer spent in Greece, best friends Bess and Joni were cleared of having any involvement in their friend Evangeline’s death. But that didn’t stop the media from ripping apart their teenage lives like vultures. While the girls were never convicted, Joni, ever the opportunist, capitalized on her newfound infamy to become a motivational speaker. Bess, on the other hand, resolved to make her life as small and controlled as possible so she wouldn’t risk losing everything all over again. And it almost worked.

Too much rumination
Revisado: 02-06-24
I found the constant analysis of the politics and dynamics between the main character and her two friends as young adults to be overwhelming. Well, I think it was an important theme of the book. It felt like it was the only theme and was constantly rehashed.

Good twists
Revisado: 01-06-24
I really liked the depth of the author’s description of the main character’s trauma and how it impacted her. Having read books by the author previously, however, I was able to decipher some twists in advance but have to admit there were still some surprises. Onto my next book by Ms. White!
