Historia
In the final book of his astonishing career, Carl Sagan brilliantly examines the burning questions of our lives, our world, and the universe around us. These luminous, entertaining essays travel both the vastness of the cosmos and the intimacy of the human mind, posing such fascinating questions as how did the universe originate and how will it end, and how can we meld science and compassion to meet the challenges of the coming century?

Not what you think
Revisado: 09-07-23
It is not about the cosmos as I had hoped from the description. Really dumb and outdated info. Boring. Don’t understand how this has good reviews. If you know basic science, don’t waste your time

Historia
At the dawn of World War I, the United States was only a rising power. Our reputation was relatively benign among Middle Easterners, who saw no imperial ambitions in our presence and were grateful for the educational and philanthropic services Americans provided. Yet by September 11, 2001, everything had changed. The United States had now become the unquestioned target of those bent on attacking the West for its perceived offenses against Islam. How and why did this transformation come about?

Great fact set - biased storyteller
Revisado: 04-25-16
Excellent review of history, but biased political tone from speaker. I recommend listening for the historical facts. But beware the spin.

Historia
In Wealth, Poverty, and Politics, Thomas Sowell, one of the foremost conservative public intellectuals in the country, argues that political and ideological struggles have led to dangerous confusion about income inequality in America. Pundits and politically motivated economists trumpet ambiguous statistics and sensational theories while ignoring the true determinant of income inequality: the production of wealth.

Non informative

Boring and not insightful. Don't waste your time.
He talks about research and then refuting research. Never makes a real point.
