The philosopher asks: "Faced with the mutually exclusive choice between moral principle and the survival of your family, which is the correct path?" Philosophers love to pose such questions, and in the day-to-day struggle, such thinkers rarely attain to a level of relevance rivaling that of the simple hunger pang. Their careful considerations dissipate under the leveled gun. We do not feel their disapproving gaze when The Others draw near. When the world sends doom, the survivors do not hesitate. The survivors do what is necessary.

It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Great series. Details in review.
Revisado: 10-11-22
Overall, this was a great experience. Is the author absolutely amazing with his story lines? No. The story is better than good but less than great. The narrator does an amazing job as well. The only thing in the entire series that drove me nuts was the pronunciation of MOLLE. The narrator pronounces it MOE-LAY rather than MOLLY. It wouldn't be such a big issue if the word wasn't used 5,000 times over the 55-hour series lol.
I have been listening to this series for probably 2 months now. I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though sometimes you find yourself knowing the main characters are about to do the single most stupidest thing possible. And then yep...they do. Are there better books out there? Absolutely. But I got my money's worth, and I'm going to go buy book 10 shortly.

Expeditionary Force, NATO version.
Revisado: 07-11-21
in the end, this was a fantastic book. when it first began, I was a little disappointed at the prepper porn. The author threw out every single possible detailed description of every single piece of equipment as if they were reading from a Amazon preppers wish list. a lot of survival books tend to go that route in my opinion. it's like the author wants to both write a fiction story, and make a prepper's Bible.
but within the first hour or so that kind of petered out, and the book fell into a good rhythm. there was just enough of that throughout the rest of the novel that you would pick up on it from time to time, but it wasn't distracting.
if you've never read expeditionary Force, you won't necessarily be offended at the artificial intelligence, but if you're a fan of those books, you can't help but feel a little bit of a rip off of the Skippy character. I love RC Bray, and he did a fantastic job with this book, but there are only so many ways to throw a British accent on a snarky AI without them sounding identical.
eventually, you quit comparing the two and just enjoy the book for what it is. it's a great story, very action-packed, very full of wit and humor, and I found myself immediately looking for the second book in the series, so I guess I was one over in the end.
pardon the poor capitalization, but apparently audibles editor doesn't work well with voice text. Great job by Bob Bray, and a great intro to a new author I had never read before.

Simply Amazing
Revisado: 04-29-21
I held off on this one for a long time, and after starting it I can't figure out why I did that. Does it have a lot of suspension of disbelief? Well, yeah, it's Robinson. But the story arc is amazing and incredibly well developed throughout the series. Once you get 1/2 way through book 1, you're hooked until the end of the series! Action, Science, a little Romance, more Action... boom a Dinosaur... ok that's cool, more of that, more action.... and on to the next book!
Literally couldn't put it down!

Having a hard time with this one...
Revisado: 04-29-21
I had a hard time with this one... I've read a LOT of prepper fiction and this one just didn't stand up to the rest for me. It's like it's written by a guy who sure, might be a Navy Seal, but isn't a good author and tries to fill the book with enough gear-porn and prepper education to start a series, all while throwing props to the "Readymen" (which funny enough, is where I read about the novel in the first place) throughout the adventure.
Mormon Mormon Mormon, lots of wheat, traditional "Do we kill 'em and take their stuff" segments, more Mormon stuff, kill a guy, rinse and repeat. Oh, and let's toss in a couple Latino gangs for fun?
Nah... I'd ask for a refund if I hadn't already bothered to listen to it all the way through. Definitely not doing more of this series if there are any more made though.

Just read it!
Revisado: 04-29-21
Ok, so I got thrown off interest in this book initially because of all the Nazi references. It just wasn't on my radar, but I heard you need to read this one before reading Infinite 2. Note, you really don't NEED to, but it's referenced (along with a lot of other Robinson books, in Infinite 2).
So.. fine.. I gave it a shot. As I should have expected, I was enthralled with the book within the first few chapters. And don't worry.. the author has the same feeling about Nazi's as the rest of us! It's not really about Nazis at all, but is set in a far distant dystopian future where mankind's mistakes have led to breakdowns in society. It's a good social story, a good moral story, and a great action-adventure novel. Read it!

Great Read!
Revisado: 04-29-21
I love J.Robinson and I love R.C. Bray. Combining them is always a win!
If you've never read Robinson's other books (aside from Infinite 1) you should. It's not required reading by any means but there are TONS of references to all kinds of things in here and if you HAVE read them, you get a bonus chuckle here and there. Great novel all the way to the end, and of course leaves off perfectly for another in the series! Can't wait to read more!

Historia
It's been three long years since Deadbreak. That's what everyone's calling it - the day the dead rose. Every day since then, Jeremiah Reid has had one goal: to make his way back to his daughter. With his four-legged companion, Joe, Jeremiah has to travel a lawless wasteland teeming with zombies, bandits, and worse, like people who put anchovies on pizza (you know who you are). It's a new world out there, and no one is safe. People are weary, cities are in ruin, supplies are scarce, and brains are on the menu.

Over the top, but still a great book.
Revisado: 12-12-20
It's somewhere between a Joe Ledger Novel and and R.C. Bray masterpiece. It's not Bray, but the narrator is amazingly nimble in his characters. The author has so much... umm.. energy and sarcasm and wit, some of it even good, that you're never going to be truly impressed, but you're going to remain enthralled regardless. Its catchy and addictive, humorous, and totally unbelievably over the top - but if you like Joe Ledger and Ghost, and you love the R.C. Bray style of narration, then this author and narrator combo will give you a welcome addition to your arsenal of great audiobooks. I honestly can't say the book is amazing. I don't think I could get through it on paper, but yet you can't turn it off on audio... totally worth the credit in a way that no unworthy book ever has been. I wish there was a sequel!

Decent, but narration is hurting it.
Revisado: 08-23-19
I like Jeremy Robinson. I've read a lot of his books and always been pleased. I've also heard a lot of Jeffrey Kafer's work and usually enjoyed him, if not as much as some more prolific narrators. But in this one he's just not bringing his A-game. The narration is almost comically overdone. Maybe that's intentional, but it's taking away a lot for me in this one. I just about can't finish it and I've NEVER not finished a Jeremy Robinson novel that I've purchased.
Your mileage may vary.
