Historia
As one of al-Qaeda's most respected bomb-makers, Aimen Dean rubbed shoulders with the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks and swore allegiance to Osama bin Laden himself. As a double agent at the heart of al-Qaeda's chemical weapons program, he foiled attacks on civilians and saved countless lives, brushing with death so often that his handlers began to call him their spy with nine lives. This is the story of how a young Muslim, determined to defend his faith, found himself fighting on the wrong side - and his fateful decision to work undercover for his sworn enemy.

Impossible to put down!
Revisado: 11-27-21
Quite possibly one of the best books I’ve listened to and read! From being a terrorist to taking down terror plots for British Intel, Mr. Dean shares a personal account that rivals that of almost anybody living today. I’d definitely go out on a limb to say that! As for drawbacks, this book is a pretty long and time consuming audiobook with over 500 pages. I just broke up the book into 5, 100 page sections instead of looking at the book as 500 pages to get through the book easier and it helped. Plus it gave me more time to absorb all the info in this book! Thumbs up on Nine Lives!

In our self-help, DIY culture, we love the idea of improvement. We make-over wardrobes and restore houses and commit ourselves to better habits. But we're still left feeling empty and not-quite-enough. That's because what we need is not an upgrade but a complete upending of our lives. We need to be reborn. And it's not something we can do by ourselves.

Historia
The Anatomy of Motive offers a dramatic, insightful look at the development and evolution of the criminal mind. The famed former chief of the FBI's Investigative Support Unit, John Douglas was the pioneer of modern behavioral profiling of serial criminals. Working again with acclaimed novelist, journalist, and filmmaker Mark Olshaker, and using cases from his own fabled career as examples, Douglas takes us further than ever before into the dark corners of the minds of arsonists, hijackers, bombers, poisoners, serial killers, and mass murderers.

Anatomy of an excellent book
Revisado: 07-28-19
After reading Mindhunter, also by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, I didn’t think any book could top that but this one did nearly did! I say this because, not only did John Douglas add more of his personal stories/experiences, he also described the personalities and motivations for all kinds of criminal offenders and why they committed these acts. From product tampering to assassins, each form of violence is broken down and assessed individually which makes the material easier to understand. At least in my time reading this book. Even though I prefer Mindhunter over The Anatomy of Motive, I still highly recommend this book to anybody who has a career in this field or just an interest in law enforcement or the FBI 🙂

A real tear jerker
Revisado: 04-05-19
Another masterpiece by Mitch Albom who happens to be one of my favorite authors! After reading Tuesday’s with Morrie and Have a Little Faith which I throughly enjoyed, I assumed For One More Day would not disappoint and boy was I right! This book is about having one more day with somebody you wish you could have back after they have passed. In this case, the story of Chick Benetto wishing and getting that one final day with his mother. I would say more but I don’t want to spoil any of the book! I’ll just say this was quite a moving book and I feel everybody who reads it will quickly understand what I’m saying.
In terms of things I liked about the book, Mr. Albom does a great job of putting life into each of the characters by describing them in great detail and by giving them each a distinctive voice that is illustrated beautifully by the audio book performance. I also felt the length of the book was absolutely perfect. It wasn’t too long or too short but perfect enough to weave an incredible story! Another great touch with the audiobook was music playing in different parts of the book. Added another level to the book.
In terms of negatives, I really couldn’t find any in this book. If I had to say one negative, it would be that I didn’t find this book sooner and read it! With that said, I highly recommend this book to anybody; especially people who are struggling with loss. A+

At the base of every broken life, every dysfunctional relationship, every bad choice is a lie we believe. And at the root of every lie is fear. Fear of not having enough, fear of missing out, fear of being alone. The good news is, once we can identify and name our fears, we can defeat the lies that control us and live out the more abundant life that Christ promises us.

I LOVE how Clayton broke down 9 lies that affect all of us and the way to break through them. This book is literally a How To on how to reset your life and live it through the way of God! Clayton’s ability to preach a biblical message that applies to everyday life through this book is tremendous! 5 stars all the way!
Just FYI, the book Stronger also by Clayton, made me give my life to Jesus a few weeks ago and I am lucky to call Clayton King a friend! He was the one who helped me give my life to Christ! So blessed for his help and friendship 🙂

Historia
For Rich Cohen and millions of other fans, the Chicago Cubs have always been more than a team: they've been the protagonists of a King Arthur epic, in search of the Holy Grail that is winning the World Series. A chronicle of the last few miraculous seasons as experienced through the prism of Cubs history, The Chicago Cubs tracks the famous curse, which was placed on the team in 1945 by the infamous owner of the Billy Goat Tavern, who was ejected from Wrigley Field when he tried to bring his goat into the grandstand for the fifth game of the World Series.

Extraordinary tale of the Chicago Cubs
Revisado: 09-20-18
Coming from a Pirates fan, this is one of the best baseball books out there. Not only does it cover the history of the Cubs, it also highlights other legendary players who helped shaped the game such as Babe Ruth. Recommends read to any baseball fan, especially fans of the Cubs! Rich Cohen, the author, also weaves an entertaining personal story of his life as a fan of the Cubs.
