This was such a captivating story, I could not put it down! The narrator did a phenomenal job too. One of my new favorite books, I'm recommending to everyone.

If you want your heart broken into a million pieces, read this book. Beautiful, but tragic. I couldn't put out down.

I loved the story, but the narrator tried way too hard to be dramatic & breathy. It felt like she was over doing it, like a dramatic movie announcer, even just on saying the chapter numbers, which took away from the listening experience

Poignantly sad, touching story. I was very moved by this story. A beautiful example of family secrets, family dynamics, emotions, and mental illness. I think because it's British and not American that all these elements end up being portrayed in a poetic way, rather than like a trashy Jerry Springer story. I couldn't put it down, and felt connected to each of the characters. I'll definitely use this book when I teach intergenerational family therapy, it will be perfect for it! The narrator was absolutely perfect, too!

I really enjoyed it, even if I did predict the ending. I thought it was a great book. engaging writing, and the sound added to the experience. I really enjoyed the characters.

For anyone who's worked in restaurants, this book will resonate. I spent 13 years in the industry (as a "waitron" and bartender) before a career change (I'm a therapist now) and I wouldn't trade those experiences for anything. Some of the stories in this book took me right back there as I remembered almost forgotten characters in the friends and Co workers he described, while other stories were radically and uniquely only the author's. I love Anthony Bourdain, even more so after reading this book. He speaks some deep truths and I appreciate his almost-jaded raw honesty, wit, spirit, and the rules/tips at the end.

What did you love best about What Makes Your Brain Happy and Why You Should Do the Opposite?

The content of the book is relevant, interesting, and captivating. I had to listen twice, though, because he reads it a bit too fast. Awesome book and so useful, reminding me of topics I haven't studied for awhile, and adding new info and support in a way that is accessible to those versed or new to psychology concepts. It would be a lot better if the reader slowed down so I didn't have to listen twice :-)
