Initial impressions

I’m only in the second chapter but the narrator rolling his “r” with every Arabic pronunciation is driving me a little crazy. As a native Arabic speaker I don’t know how he was so ill-advised and it’s making the story a little comical.
Initially I thought he had a lisp but he pronounced it perfectly in English throughout the book.
So far, the writing itself is quite sensational and a tad too descriptive. Rambles on a bit. I will post again when and if I finish the book.

Storytelling without imposing opinion

Very enjoyable book, balanced and informative. The narrator is compelling. No imposition of opinions or explanations.
