Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Enjoyed
Revisado: 08-11-24
I definitely enjoyed this twisted plot. It kept me guessing with the protagonist. Black out memory loss was a good plot line... helped hide the real culprit longer

A good story with lots of twists, turns and a few red herring. I guessed some bits and was completely wrong on some others.

Another Gem
Revisado: 05-25-24
I have fallen in love with Amor Towles writing. The descriptions of ordinary things and the very defined settings of time and place. He stiles the balance of letting you immerse into the story and not boring you with overly florid language. This narrator was spot on with her tone. I was sorry when the book ended...

interwoven
Revisado: 04-05-24
A nice tightly woven plot. Characters and time lines seemed to be superficially connected... until they were no longer separated, making one complete story. I don't always enjoy when authors use this storytelling trick. This was a master class on it though.

Woven Plotlines
Revisado: 01-21-24
This book weaves together a lot of insight and background stories. Some authors would have blended this into the larger books. I am glad it wasn't in this series. it was a nice interlude in the larger story arc.

Historia
Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. Historia
It arrives in the morning. An old-fashioned airmail envelope addressed to Detective Nikki Galena. Inside, on a single sheet of blue airmail paper, are three words: You failed me. The second airmail envelope arrives at Nikki's home address. The same message. Only this time, it's followed by four names: Alexandra Cornfield, Ruth Baker, Bethany Lyons, Leanne Delaney. Four missing women. Four local women whose bodies were never found.

Twists and Turns
Revisado: 01-04-24
A couple of well placed twists and turns to the story and it keeps you guessing. Separate stories tangled together helps move the plot in unexpected directions. I LOVE this series and even when I guess an ending there are still plot lines to be revealed. Definitely a fan.

There is absolutely no logical reason why I am here. The life trajectory my nationality and class and circumstances portended for me was not even remotely close to the one I now navigate. But logic is a science and living is an art. The release I felt in writing my first memoir, Not My Father’s Son, was matched only by how my speaking out empowered so many to engage with their own trauma. I was reminded of the power of my words and the absolute duty of authenticity.

I am a middle aged woman in middle America... who is a HUGE fan of Alan Cumming. I devoured this book... I loved the little quips interspersed between the stories of his many relationships. I think if we were in the same group of people... he would be a close friend.

Historia
A skeleton is found in a shallow grave in the churchyard. But this was not an official burial. The victim was murdered decades ago. At the same time, Detective Nikki Galena and her team are investigating the brutal slaying of local businesswoman Madeline Prospero. She was a member of an exclusive and secretive drinking club called The Briar Patch. But they've got no suspects and no one is telling them the truth. Meanwhile, the buried skeleton leads them on a trail to the village of Quintin Eaudyke. This is a troubled place. In the late 70s and 80s a reign of terror was unleashed.

Without giving away too much... this book handles LGBT and a lesser known type of villain with deft intelligence and acceptance. If I hadn't already respected this author, this book would have won me over.
