Historia
It's as big as the Empire State Building, a massive floating fortress at the throbbing heart of a US Navy carrier battle group. Its supersonic aircraft can level entire cities at a stroke. Its surveillance gear can track every target within thousands of square miles - in the air, on the surface, and under the sea. Its crew of 6,000 works night and day to keep this awesome military machine at peak performance. It's a Nimitz-class nuclear carrier, the most powerful weapons system on the planet. Nothing can touch it.

So ...So ..story
Revisado: 11-17-17
did not care for the narrator and the story was lomg winded, and for my self l felt that there was to much swearing used to add volume to the story line, along with random tales of sexual exploits.

Historia
Requiem for Battleship Yamato is Yoshida Mitsuru's story of his own experience as a junior naval officer aboard the fabled Japanese battleship as it set out on a last, desperate sortie in April 1945. Yoshida was on the bridge during Yamato's fatal encounter with American airplanes, and his eloquent, moving account of that battle makes a singular contribution to the literature of the Pacific war. The book has long been considered a classic in both Japan and the United States.

Brutally Honest Account of Institutional Idiocy
- De Austin Thompson en 05-31-14
Gripping and factual story
Revisado: 11-16-17
the orator was very well versed, the story of the Yamato was very compelling and the fact that it was told by a survivor made it much more riveting. The use of personal memories and letters from crew members added such a insightful view of the Japanese sailor as to how they conducted themselves in battle and at rest was very telling of how and why they were so very brutal and aggressive towards lesser ranks and to prisoners. The brutality that they had to the lesser class structure on board ship, basically kept everyone in a state of fear and submission so that if they would have tried to be derelict in there duties at there post, they would be to fearful of the repercussions they would face from peers or officers.
l thoroughly enjoyed the book and will replay it again. I will also look for it in hardback edition to add to my collection.

Historia
This is the dramatic story of the American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep. With the narrative power of fiction, this is a harrowing ride through the fire-filled skies over Berlin, Hanover, and Dresden. Fighting at twenty-five thousand feet in thin, freezing air no warriors had encountered before, bomber crews battled new kinds of assaults on body and mind. Air combat was deadly but intermittent: periods of inactivity and anxiety were followed by short bursts of fire and fear.

She was a monster, sleek and gleaming, designed to strike without warning like the dreaded shark. She was the USS Mako, as fearless and bold as any submarine that ever prowled the blue Pacific. Her mission: seek out and destroy the hitherto invincible ships of the Japanese Imperial Navy - and revenge the earlier defeats of a long and dirty war. Here is the story of the men who pitted their lives against impossible odds in the most dangerous branch of the American armed services.

Historia
Team Yankee, the New York Times best-seller by Harold Coyle, presents a glimpse of what it would have been like for the soldiers who would have had to meet the relentless onslaught of Soviet and Warsaw Pact divisions. Using the geo-political and military scenarios described by General Sir John Hackett, former NORTHAG commander and author of World War Three; August 1985, Team Yankee follows the war as seen from the turret of Captain Sean Bannon's tank.

I have read the book and the audio book team Yankee and the audio was just as good as the book. Throughly enjoyed it , I save my audio books for when I'm in the hospital, unfortunately I'm in quite a bit so a good audio novel really helps me pass the time, this was a great story accurate in terminology, in the technical aspects of modern tank warfare and modern battle tactics and weapon deployment. Read the book and then listen to the audio book.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

suspension, ingenuity, and a heart felt day to day accounting of Ryan's resourcefulness in his daily fight for survival against all odds. a must read a most listen to , I listen to my stories when I'm in the hospital and cannot sleep or at home convalescening and recuperating.
They are very relaxing and are very correctly written , so they then decide to lead to a more antililcal information; that you can in your detailing of the history of the crtaft, be it a ship, a boat, fleet submarines, or a tracked military vehicle or helicopter or plane.
but my mouth has run amok against, please read the stoory, and learn from it at it did. learn from what you have gathered let the seed flourish and grow into something strong and sturdy within you.
Enjoy the boof best of all to everyone

Battle: The Story of the Bulge, John Toland's first work of military history, recounts the saga of beleaguered American troops as they resisted Hitler's deadly counter offensive in World War II's Battle of the Bulge - and turned it into an Allied victory. It is a gripping work, painstakingly researched and imbued with such vivid detail that listeners will feel as though they themselves witnessed these events. This is a book not to be missed by anyone interested in this tumultuous era of our world's history.

The Battle of the Bulge
Revisado: 10-09-16
long has the story's of the Bulge been told and movies have been made recalling this historic battle, but the telling of this epic battle will take you through eye whiteness accounts and of the individual memoirs that have been recounted and told as remembered. the telling of this story is a riveting account of history if it was a book you could not put it down for it would be a page turner. Great narration, Great story a must listening for any historical buff.
