A fallen Paladin seeks to find his way back to his diety, even among the worst of situations. A nice short listen and a great addition to the Pathfindee Tales.

A new Pathfinder player approves!
Revisado: 03-06-24
I started playing Pathfinder 2e after the OGL Debacle. One of the best things about the system is the rich, well-developed lore. This book does a great job of conveying that, especially the Magnimar/Korvosa divide and the “not quite a country” aspect of Varisia.

Historia
An inside look at modern open-source software developers - and their influence on our online social world. Open-source software in which developers publish code that anyone can use has long served as a bellwether for other online behavior. In the late 1990s, it provided an optimistic model for public collaboration, but in the last 20 years it shifted to solo operators who write and publish code that's consumed by millions.

The continuation of a spectacular story
Revisado: 06-05-21
I’ve read English translations of the 2nd and 3rd book in the Condor Trilogy, but it’s been hard to find translations of the 1st. This gives a LOT more context to what I know from the last 2 books.
THIS specific book (part 3 of book 1) was fantastic. My only real complaint is having to wait until August for part 4.
I’ve loved the translations so far as well, w/ some names being converted to English and others left in their original Chines. I speak some Mandarin, but I think even non-Mandarin speakers will enjoy the story, w/o having to worry about names.

A series of unfortunate incidents have led to him being arrested, and his political enemies are keen to see him sentenced to death. There is still hope, however. Excellent reading of an excellent story
Revisado: 01-27-20
I’m not sure why one reviewer was upset the narrator had a British accent. Her proper pronunciation of the various Chinese names was more important.
This is one of the classics of Chinese literature. Until you have a chance to read a full-length translation, this short version does a great job of covering the major points.

This book brings the story to an entirely new continent (North America) and gives a glimpse of steampunk life there. This takes it from steampunk slightly into the Alternative Fiction genre, which I also enjoy.
Looking forward to Book 4.

Buy as many lattes as you want. Spend extravagantly on the things you love. Live your rich life instead of tracking every last expense with Ramit Sethi’s simple, powerful, and effective six-week program for gaining control over your finances. This isn’t typical advice from a money expert. In this completely updated second edition, Ramit teaches you how to choose long-term investments and the right bank accounts. With his characteristic no-BS perspective, he shows how to squeeze every hidden benefit out of your credit cards.

Wish I’d read this 10 years ago. Glad I read it now
Revisado: 09-09-19
Read this and act on it. I’ve got a degree in accounting so I know the power of compounding. But we’re never taught to make it work for us.
And Ramit is right: putting The Big Strokes on autopilot will pave a smooth road to a better financial life. I know lots of folks “don’t want to think about money”, but that doesn’t make financial realities go away.
Take control of them before they take control of you.
