I’ve enjoyed the mix of magics, world building and resolution of conflicts between the two main cultures. The narrator is an excellent actor with inflections, animation and multiple characters. And, I like the personal balance that develops between the 2 main characters.

Dull

Narrator has lovely voice, but very flat affect.
Story of middle aged woman assuming inherited role of queen in Fairyland is very slow, simple, and soporific.

Entertaining fantasy trilogy

I read this and listened to this as trilogy for best appreciation of progressive storyline. This is not a grim, heavy action story. Plus, there are no heavy sex scenes and no swearing (for people who care). Action takes place on Maine coastline. Adult female protagonist comes home and, after some angst, resumes her place in her family and fantastical community. Think fairy princess comes home to resolve family and community problems. I enjoyed the mostly adult behaviors, the development of interwoven relationships and the descriptions of the fantastical creatures and their magic. The Maine accent by the narrator is fun, 1st book narration is not as good as 2nd and 3rd books.

Beyond Scent Work

Well written as in descriptive, grammatical, and interesting blend of canine research and living with a working dog.
The narrator has excellent tone, pronunciation, and inflection.
I enjoyed reading about author’s journey with her dog and the scientific research she added throughout the book.

Well done story and performance. I enjoyed the back and forth viewpoints of the characters, the progression and conclusion of the mystery, and the narrator gave an excellent performance. This work reminds me of the Grainger series.

Murderbot...my hero

Ms. Wells is a well established author who puts out well written stories.
The Murderbot series has become my favorite of her series due to juxtaposition of main character’s internal dialog and the narrator’s wonderful inflections.
Great series to listen to, even if most of the stories only run about 4hrs.

I dislike reviews that are misleading about story line/content and don’t report soft porn content.
This seemed like boy-girl romance with lots of sexual tension taking place in semi-military setting. Not my cup of tea, but the narrator did a good job.

Great listen

Heather O'Neil's performance made this book for me.
I find many "coming of age" fantasy books tedious, but the combination of author Mark Lawrence's writing and narration by Heather O'Neil made this an absolute joy to listen to.
I'm confused by placement of 2 chapters foreshadowing future events and I will probably go back to see why author put them in, which is why I gave the story 4 stars.
Overall, a great listen.

I love the narrator, but the author used all of his humorous lines from his previous books in this new book. If you have already listened to the first few books you won't need to purchase "Outfoxed", since there's nothing new here.
