Very good plot
Revisado: 12-30-24
I liked the storyline. It kept me intrigued. I did not like the narration for the male figures, particularly the boy Michael. It was annoying. Sounds like a grown woman pretending to be a man but should be a boy.

Eleven long hard years I waited, my heart breaking for our son, who didn’t know his father was coming back. Today, my hands shake as I try to understand what I’ve just learned: my husband has a new wife. This wasn’t part of our plan. Eleven years ago, my husband made a terrible mistake. I sacrificed everything to help him fix it. But now he’s put our son and me in danger again. We had a plan. He broke the rules. But who will pay the price?

The characters were fully developed. The storyline was very good and full of twists and turns. The narration was excellent. I would recommend this book without hesitation.

Felix Pink is retired. Widowed for more than a decade and a painfully literal thinker, he has led a life of routine. He occupies himself volunteering as an Exiteer - someone who sits with terminally ill people as they die by suicide, assisting with logistics and lending moral support. When Felix lets himself into Number 3 Black Lane, he’s there to keep a dying man company as he takes his final breath. But just 15 minutes later, Felix is on the run from the police. Now he must discover whether what went wrong was a simple mistake - or deliberate, a murder.

Book was all over the place.
Revisado: 11-14-24
Let me try to explain. The storyline was pretty good however they had too many different plots and character. Some things just came up out of nowhere. The characters are very likable. Performance is good. I just think there was too much going on in this book. It went left a few times.

Simon and Vicky couldn’t seem more normal: a wealthy Chicago couple, he a respected law professor, she an advocate for domestic violence victims. A stable, if unexciting marriage. But one thing’s for sure: absolutely nothing is what it seems. The pair are far from normal, and one of them just may be a killer. When the body of a beautiful socialite is found hanging in a mansion in a nearby suburb, Simon and Vicky’s secrets begin to unravel. A secret whirlwind affair. A twenty-million-dollar trust fund about to come due.

Excellent story and great listen!
Revisado: 10-29-24
The plot was great. There was so many twists and turns, I couldn’t guess the next turn. This was exciting to listen to. The characters are likable for the most part although they are shady. That’s how good the author presented his characters. I was rooting for the shady people for some reason. This was my first book by this author and I’m immediately looking for more!

From New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Freida McFadden comes the next installment of the unbelievably twisty, tension-packed and globally bestselling Housemaid series. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone listen: and once you start, it will have you up all night until the final explosive twist.

Disliked every character in the book
Revisado: 08-24-24
Not a single character was likable and if this was the goal of the author, mission accomplished! While the storyline was just okay, this last book in the series comes off as contrived to meet the obligation of completing the series. It’s like the author did one of the horrible collaborations with another author and I typically love this author’s work.
Now let’s discuss the narration. The readers are really good but the male accent for the husband/dad was extremely annoying. It was tough getting through this book with all the above. Yes, I will read another Freida McFadden book and hope this was just a one-off book with unlikable characters and bad male narration.

‘I’ll always protect you.’ These are the words my mother whispered to me every time she kissed me goodnight. And whenever we ventured outside our windswept seaside village, she’d clutch my hand tightly and her face would be pinched and pale. I never understood why. But now I do. Growing up, I’d heard the whispers and the rumours. My mother tried to keep the truth from me, but she failed. I understand exactly what happened eighteen years ago. I know I am the murdered doctor’s child.

Good wrap up to series…HOWEVER
Revisado: 07-20-24
I’ll keep this short. This was a very good series. I loved the recap of what’s happened in this particular book. The down side is that it’s ALLLLLL they talked about in this book is the recap. The now-day scenes were pretty good but for such an exciting series, the end was anti-climactic. Nevertheless, this is a really good author who knows how to tell a story.

Pretty good book, not a dramatic ending
Revisado: 07-13-24
I like the characters and storyline. I didn’t know what was going to happen however somewhere towards the end, it took a turn. The author I reduced a twist and it had me confused for a while. I finally understood however it was anti-climactic. This a a great author but this one didn’t leave me with a WOW at the conclusion.

Historia
True crime writer Wylie Lark doesn’t mind being snowed in at the isolated farmhouse where she’s retreated to write her new book. A cozy fire, complete silence. It would be perfect, if not for the fact that decades earlier, at this very house, two people were murdered in cold blood and a girl disappeared without a trace.

I liked the storyline but hated all the separate stories. It was hard to keep up either the characters. Although it came together, it was still confusing at times.

It seems like the perfect job. Great wages, accommodation provided and all located within the walls of Highwood Hall, a stunning stately home owned by the Howard family. Hard to follow
Revisado: 05-17-24
This audible was difficult for me. I stopped listening twice but decided I’m no quitter and besides…I’d already purchase the book so I pounded through it. Well lo and behold, approx 5 hrs into this 8+ hrs listen, the first major thing happened! Yes, it took just that long. The story still didn’t increase by leaps and bounds to keep my heart pounding however by the 6th hour, I didn’t have to decide whether to listen to my radio in the vehicle or this book. The characters were not easy to follow along. I kept trying to remember who was who. At that point, I was just trying to see how it ends (again…..I am not a quitter) but I was ready to get to my next book. Overall, this was ok but it could have been one of those 2 hr free audible listens. I’ll give this author one more chance with another book but not just yet. I have to get over this one first. It’s not terrible, it’s just not the best.

The story was good but it was hard to follow because you’re not listening to an audio book but it’s like listening to a TV show without seeing the screen. They did a pretty good job of trying to make it realistic but it was still difficult to keep up.
